Nigeria Scrambles Newly Acquired JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet To Intercept Unidentified Drone In Its Airspace:

Nigerian Air Force scrambled the newly acquired JF-17 Thunder Multi-role Fighter Jet to intercept the unidentified Drone flying in in its airspace. 

As soon as the Nigerian JF-17 Thunder got Airborne, the unidentified Drone immediately disappeared by heading towards North.

Prominent Nigerian Defense twitter handler confirms the new by saying that the Nigerian Air Force has immediately scrambled the JF-17 Thunder Multi-role Jets, which is acquired from its Iron Brother PAKISTAN, as soon as the radar indicate the flying of the unidentified Drone in its Airspace. As soon as the JF-17 Thunder Jet scrambles, the drone disappeared in the Northern side.

“For the second time in a week JF-17 fighters are scrambled to intercept an unidentified UAV loitering. Once again the unidentified UAV heads north of its position out of Nigerian airspace the moment the JF-17 fighter is airborne,” Defense Nigeria said in an official Twitter Handler.

It is pertinent to mention that Nigeria has acquired the total three numbers of JF-17 Thunder Block-II Multi-Role Fighter Jets from its Iron Brother CHINA back in May 2021. Nigeria also bought the lethal munitions and the necessary equipment from PAKISTAN.

After inducting the PAKISTAN-made JF-17 Thunder, Nigeria made it clear that JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet would be its Premier Strike and Front-line multi-role fighter jet.

Nigeria placed an order for the acquisition of total three Numbers of Fighter Jet from PAKISTAN and commissioned the newly acquired Fighter Jet on the occasion of the 57th Anniversary of Nigerian Air Force.

After getting the JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet, the Nigerian Air Force said that the “Newly Acquired JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet will add impetus to the ongoing fight against insurgency, armed banditry and other forms of criminality in the country.”

After inducting the JF-17 Thunder Jet in its fleet, the Nigerian Air Force immediately deploys the JF-17 Thunder to conduct precision Strikes against the western-funded terrorist organization Boko Haram that are carrying out insurgency in different parts of Nigeria.

JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet, made with the Collaboration of Iron Brother PAKISTAN and CHINA, is basically a 4.5++ Gen Fighter jet that is armed with the lethal air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions.

The JF-17 Thunder Jet is equipped with the 8 under-wing hardpoints that can easily carry a variety of lethal munitions, missiles and bombs, according to the different mission.

Nigerian Air Force Pilots also added that the Nigerian JF-17 Thunder Multi-role Fighter Jets are also equipped with the revolutionary Aselpod Targeting Pods that can easily track and identify any air-borne or ground-based target with pinpoint accuracy. PAKISTAN had acquired the Aselpod Targeting System for Nigeria from its Iron Brother TURKEY.

This is the first time that Nigerian Air Force pilots have claimed the acquisition of Aselpod Targeting System onboard the JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet.
