Funeral Prayer Of Former CJCSC General Shamim Alam Khan (Retd) Offered At ARMY Graveyard In Rawalpindi:
Funeral prayers of PAKISTAN ARMY Former CHAIRMAN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CJCSC) General (Retd) Shamim Alam Khan offered at the ARMY Graveyard in Rawalpindi on Friday, December 10, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.
PAKISTAN ARMY CHAIRMAN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi and large number of civil and military officials, including the retired PAKISTAN ARMY Officers and their relatives attended the funeral.
“Funeral prayer of General Shamim Alam Khan (Retired), former CHAIRMAN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CJCSC) was offered at ARMY Graveyard Rawalpindi today,” DG ISPR said.
General Nadeem Raza, CHAIRMAN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CJCSC), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS), Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) and a large number of civil and military officials including senior retired Army officers and relatives of deceased attended the funeral.
Brief Intro about Former CJCSC General Shamim Alam Khan:
Former CJCSC General Shamim Alam has served at the post of CHAIRMAN JOINT CHEIFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CJCSC) from 1991 – 1994. He was a member of the PAKISTAN ARMY Special Services Group. He has also served at the post of Chief of General Staff (CGS) at ARMY GHQ. He has also commanded the XXXI Corps at Bahawalpur and II Corps at Multan.
He got commissioned in the 14th PMA Long Course and started his career from the 20th Lancers of the Armored Corps back in 1956. Later, he commanded as the SSG Company in the PAKISTAN-india war of 1965, for which he was awarded with the coveted Sitara-e-Jurrat.
During the 1965 War, he served with the 28th Cavalry in the Chamb Sector and later, he took over the command of the regiment after the humiliating defeat of india in the 1965 war.

Throughout his illustrious and distinctive career, he has also commanded the 1st Armored Division at Multan and an independent Armored Brigade. Moreover, he has also served as the Vice Chief of General Staff (CGS).
Former CJCSC General Shamim Alam Khan (Retd) promoted to the 4-Star General of PAKISTAN ARMY and then he appointed as the CHAIRMAN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CJCSC). He retired from the Service after successfully completing the 3 year tenure back in 1994.
