The outgoing Italian Ambassador to PAKISTAN Stefano Pontecorvo paid a farewell visit to PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Ahmed Bajwa at Generals Headquarters Islamabad on Tuesday, 21st January, 2020, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in an official statement via the official twitter account.

According to the details of the press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Ahmed Bajwa specially thanked the outgoing Italian Ambassador Stefano Ponecorvo for his valuable services during his stay in friendly country PAKISTAN and the COAS acknowledged the contribution of outgoing Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo for strengthening the bond of PAKISTAN and Italy relations.

During the visit, the outgoing Italian Ambassador to PAKISTAN Stefano Pontecorvo lauds PAKISTAN ARMY’s role for ensuring enduring peace and stability in the region and he also appreciated the positive role of PAKISTAN ARMY for the ongoing Afghan Peace process.

During the visit, the PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Ahmed Bajwa congratulated the outgoing Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo on his upcoming appointment as the Civil Senior Representative of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Afghanistan.

The outgoing Italian Ambassador to PAKISTAN Stefano Pontecorvo has helped to strengthen the cordial and friendly relationship between PAKISTAN and Italy during his tenure and it is expected that the PAKISTAN Italy relationship will further strengthened during the tenure of upcoming Italian Ambassador to PAKISTAN.
