PAKISTAN and Russia Joint Special Forces Exercise Druzhba-VI successfully kicks off at the Molkino training area in the Russian Krasnodar region on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.
According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, the Inter-Services Public Relations, the two-week long Druzhba-VI Military Exercise between the special forces of PAKISTAN and Russia held in the Krasnodar Region in Russia in a graceful opening ceremony.
Mayor of Garyachi Kaluch Sergy Belopolsky graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest. Top senior military officials from PAKISTAN and Russia were also presented on the occasion.
The National Anthems of both friendly countries, PAKISTAN and Russia, were played during the opening ceremony that was followed by the equipment and weapons display parade.
More than 130 Special Forces from ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN and Russian Federation are taking part in the exercise.
“Special Forces of PAKISTAN and Russia are participating in the two-week-long exercise in the counter-terrorism domain,” DG ISPR said.
PAKISTAN and Russia Joint Military Drills Druzhba aimed to enhance the interoperability and capability of the troops in the domain of special operations and counter-terrorism.
Earlier in November 2020, a contingent of the Russian Special Forces arrived in PAKISTAN to participate in the two-week long Druzhba-V Joint Drills.
“The Druzhba-2021 exercise is a very important event for us. We are glad to exchange the professional experience of the servicemen of our countries, as well as to strengthen cooperation in the military sphere between the special forces units of Russia and PAKISTAN,” Mahmud Rashid said.
It is pertinent to mention that Druzhba means Friendship in Russian Language and Druzhba Joint Military drills held every year alternatively in PAKISTAN and Russia. The Druzhba Joint Military Exercise starts back in 2016.
The commencement of the Joint Military Drills between the Special Operation Forces (SOF) between PAKISTAN and Russia can be seen as the another big step in the growing military-to-military relation between the two friendly countries, who ties were strained by Cold War rivalry for decades.
Top Defense Analysts are terming the commencement of PAKISTAN-Russia Joint Military Drills dubbed as Druzhba-VI as another significant milestone in the relations of both the countries. Moreover, it would also help to enhance the military, defense and security relations between the two friendly countries.

The two-week long Joint PAKISTAN Russia Joint Military Exercise Druzhba VI will continue till October 6th, 2021 and it is culminate with a joint tactical and special drill of an assault company and objects.
Earlier, PAKISTAN ARMY has also participated in the Peace Mission 2021 Exercise being held in Russia under the umbrella of Shanghai Cooperation Organization or SCO.
“Troops from all Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states are participating in the exercise under extremely challenging field environment. Belarus is taking part in the exercise as an observer,” Russian Defense Ministry Spokesperson said.
