PAKISTAN ARMY Promotes Major General Waseem Alamgir To The Rank Of Lieutenant General With Immediate Effect:
PAKISTAN ARMY has promoted the Major General Waseem Alamgir of ARMY Medical Corps to the rank of Lieutenant General with immediate effect on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.
According to the details, the newly promoted Lieutenant General Waseem Alamgir of ARMY Medical Corps will assume his responsibility as the Rector National University of Medical Science (NUMS), Rawalpindi.
“Major General Waseem Alamgir, Army Medical Corps has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General. He will be assuming charge as Rector National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS),” DG ISPR said.
It is pertinent to mention that the newly promoted Lieutenant General Waseem Alamgir was also amongst the Nine Brigadiers of PAKISTAN ARMY medical Corps, who were promoted to the rank of Major Genera back in June 2018.
Now, after 3 years, PAKISTAN ARMY has promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General with immediate effect.
Back in November 26, PAKISTAN ARMY promoted the Lieutenant General Nigar Jauhar of PAKISTAN ARMY Medical Corps as the PAKISTAN’s first female Colonel Commandant of the ARMY Medical Corps.
She is the first ever female Colonel Commandant and female Four Star General of PAKISTAN ARMY to promoted as the Colonel Commandant of ARMY Medical Corps.
Last year, PAKISTAN ARMY promoted the Major General Saqib Mehmood Malik to the rank of Lieutenant General. After the appointment, he led his responsibility as the Chief of the Logistics Staff of PAKISTAN ARMY.
Back in 2020, PAKISTAN ARMY promoted the Six Major Generals to the rank of Lieutenant Generals. The promoted Generals include the Former Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor, Major General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, Major General Muhammad Ali, Major General Sarfraz Ali, Major General Salman Fayyaz Ghani and Major General Akhtar Nawaz.
