The name of the new product offered by the state-owned company is POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90.
The POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90, is basically a Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle manufactured indigenously by the PAKISTAN Ordnance Factories. The POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 has a caliber of 7.62 mm x 51 mm and it is a modern combat precision sniper rifle designed to shoot at a target up to 1000 feet with ease.
One of the best features of the POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 is that it is a semi automatic rifle and user can fire from the rifle in any shooting position. The POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 comes with the 5 or 20 rounds magazine.
PAKISTAN Ordnance Factories (POF) has made this weapon in accordance with the highest methods in par with the international standards. The overall length of the POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 is up to 1158 mm and it comes with the heavy polygon profile barrel.
The POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 has a total barrel length up to 600 mm and it has a muzzle velocity of 870 m/Sec. The total weight of the POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 with empty magazine is up to 8.1 Kilograms and it also comes with the optional trigger pull, which has 1.6 KG weight.
The POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 comes with the fully adjustable butt stock handle and it has an accuracy up to 90 mm group at 300 Meters. In order to minimize the sound of the fire, a suppressor can also be installed as an add-on.
The POF Semi Automatic Precision Sniper Rifle PSR 90 features different types of modern sighting system as Telescope 5.5-22 x 50 NXS. Additionally, a lens with powerful night vision technology can also be mounted on the rifle for special operations.
Former Chairman POF, Lt Gen Mohammad Ahsan Mahmood highlight the features of the weapons as, “We have manufactured the first sniper rifle at POF. Previously all sniper rifles used by security forces were imported from abroad. Now ALHAMDULLILAH we can export Made in Pakistan sniper rifle to other countries.”
“A powerful lens with night vision technology makes its use easier both in day and night times engagements. Now they can trace and target the hidden enemy with a weapon made in their own country,” General Ahsan further said.
