CNS Admiral Abbasi Meets Sri Lankan PM And Top Military Heads During Official Visit to Sri Lanka:

PAKISTAN NAVAL CHIEF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi paid an official visit to brotherly Country Sri Lanka and meets the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lankan Defense Secretary Major General (r) Kamal Gunaratne and Top Sri Lanka Military Heads in separate meetings during the visit, PAKISTAN NAVY Media Wing Head Director General Public Relations (DG PR) Rear Admiral Arshid Javed said in an official statement via Twitter account.

During separate meetings with both the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Sri Lankan Defense Secretary Major General (r) Kamal Gunaratne, both sides discussed various matters related to mutual interest, recent regional security and stability during the meeting.

During the meeting, the dignitaries from both sides acknowledged the existed Brotherly and Cordial relations between the two Brotherly Countries of PAKISTAN and Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, the Top Level Dignitaries from both sides highly appreciated the precious sacrifices, contribution and role of PAKISTAN ARMED, NAVAL and AIR FORCES in spearheading various initiatives to promote peace and harmony in the region.

The CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi also held separate meetings with the Top Level Sri Lankan Navy, Army and Air Force Commanders. Earlier upon arrival at the Sri Lankan Naval, Army and Air Force Headquarters in Colombo, the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi was warmly welcomed, received and greeted by the respective Sri Lankan Service Commanders.

The Smart contingent of the Sri Lankan Navy, Air Force and Air Force presented a separate Guard of Honor to the CNS Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi on the occasions.

The CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi separately called on Commander of the Sri Lankan Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of Sri Lankan Air Force Air Marshal Sumangala Dias and Commander of Sri Lankan Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.

During the meetings, the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi and the respected Services Chiefs of Sri Lankan Armed, Naval and Air Forces discussed various matters related to bilateral Defense Cooperation, regional Maritime Security Situation and matters related to mutual interest came into discussion.

During the meeting, the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi highlighted the precious efforts of PAKISTAN NAVY to effectively combat Maritime Terrorism, including the Terrorism, Drug Trafficking and Piracy, etc.

The CNS Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi also highlighted the efforts of PAKISTAN NAVY in spearheading the various International and Regional Maritime Peace initiatives, including the Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP).

All the respective Sri Lankan Services Chiefs highly appreciate and acknowledged the precious efforts of PAKISTAN NAVY in maintaining peace, stability and security in the regional maritime frontiers.

The Sri Lankan Armed, Naval and Air Force Services Chiefs also agreed on further expanding and enhancing the bilateral interaction in diverse fields of military collaboration between the ARMED, NAVAL and AIR FORCES of the two Brotherly Countries.

During the official visit to Sri Lanka, the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi also called on separately on Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Wickramasinghe, Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul and Naval Dockyard.

During the meeting, the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi was given briefing on various aspects of the operational activities of the respective Sri Lankan Commands. The PAKISTAN NAVAL CHIEF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi highly appreciated the Commendable work and professionalism undertaken by the various Commands of the Sri Lankan Navy.

It is expected that the recent visit of PAKISTAN NAVAL CHIEF to Brotherly Country Sri Lanka would significantly help in augmenting the Bilateral Cooperation between both the countries in General and the Armed, Naval and Air Forces of the both the two Brotherly Countries in Particular.
