PAKISTAN NAVY Cuts Steel Of Indigenous 5th HANGOR Class Submarine On The Eve Of The Golden Jubilee Of HANGOR Day:

PAKISTAN NAVY cuts the steel of the indigenous 5th HANGOR Class AIP Attack Submarine on the eve of the Golden Jubilee of the Historic HANGOR Day at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW), Karachi on 9th December, 2021, PAKISTAN NAVY Director General Public Relations head DGPR NAVY Rear Admiral Naeem Sarwar said in an official statement.

According to the details, in order to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Historic HANGOR DAY, PAKISTAN NAVY organizes the gracious steel cutting ceremony of PAKISTAN NAVY 5th indigenous HANGOR Class Submarine at KS&EW, Karachi.

PAK NAVAL CHIEF, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

PAKISTAN NAVY has inked the contract for the procurement of 8 numbers of Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP)-based HANGOR Class Attack Submarines with its Iron Brother CHINA.

The 5th HANGOR Class Attack Submarine would be first, amongst the total number of 8 Submarines, that would be built indigenously under the Transfer of Technology (ToT) with CHINA.

According to the contract, 4 of the submarines would be constructed in CHINA, while the other 4 would construct in PAKISTAN at KS&EW with the complete technological assistance from CHINESE Engineers and Technicians.

The HANGOR Class Submarine, after the construction, would be the most advanced and lethal underwater combatant Submarine in the fleet of PAKISTAN NAVY that is fully capable to undertake both peace and war time roles in an efficient manner.

The fifth HANGOR Class Submarine would be totally packed with modern sensors, radars and armed with modern and lethal weaponry that would make it capable to operate under multi-threat environment.

“The Submarine possesses advanced stealth features to operate under multi threat environment and its state of the art sensors are integrated with Command & Control system which can simultaneously track engage several targets at standoff ranges. The Submarine would be named PNS TASNIM upon commissioning,” DGPR NAVY said.

The HANGOR Class AIP Submarine would also feature the hi-tech Command & Control System, which can simultaneously track and engage several targets at standoff range.

PAKISTAN NAVY has added that the Submarine would be named after the Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmad Tasnim in order to honor the heroic Action of this Sacred Country PAKISTAN.

While Speaking on the occasion, CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi expressed term the construction of indigenous HANGOR Class AIP Attack Submarine as another milestone in the Brotherly relations between Iron Brothers, PAKISTAN and CHINA.

The Steel Cutting Ceremony was attended by the Top Ranking Officials of DA CHINA and prominent dignitaries from the CHINESE Embassy to PAKISTAN, PAKISTAN NAVY, KS&EW and MoDP.
