PAKISTAN NAVY Gets Second RAS 72 Sea Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) from Rheinland Air Service Germany. The latter aircraft simply known as the RAS 72 Sea Eagle is a modern maritime patrol aircraft equipped with latest hardware and technology.

PAKISTAN has signed a contract back in 2015 to equip the PAKISTAN NAVY with a fleet of modern and state of the art aircraft.

The first RAS 72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) was officially handed over to PAKISTAN back in June 2018 and the German Company delivered the Second RAS 72 Aircraft after the General Introduction to the Public as the Paris International Air Show Back in which was held on June 2019.

The RAS 72 Sea Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) is a multi-role reconnaissance aircraft designed specifically for maritime patrol missions, search and rescue operations, Submarine Warfare and other rescue and humanitarian relief operations.

The RAS 72 Sea Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) is equipped with the modern and state of the art sophisticated on-board sensors that enable the operator of the aircraft to easily identify and detect sensitive seaborne targets below or above the oceans, including the Submarines.

The RAS 72 Sea Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) can easily transmit all the captured sensitive information to the dedicated real-time command centre for further necessary actions against the adversary.

The RAS 72 Sea Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) can easily be configured to a variety of interior configurations from troop transport to complex configurations for VIP guests and it can also handle a variety of cargo options. This multi-role aircraft can also be used as a dedicated air cargo carrier with little modifications. 

The Second Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) was formally handed over to the senior level Officials of PAKISTAN NAVY at RAS Headquarters in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

On the occasion, Nikolaos Mavrikis, the Director Special Mission Division, said that By getting the delivery of the Second RAS 72 Sea Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft, PAK NAVY becomes the newest operator of the RAS 72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft  (MPA) and features the latest generation airborne platform and Aerodata’s Mission Management System for Anti-Submarine Warfare, based on a cost-effective twin Turboprop Engine for enhanced performance.

The latest acquiring of two maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft gives PAKISTAN NAVY the strategic dominance and to endorse the domain of the maritime security domain of PAKISTAN as a whole.

Both the maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft significantly boost the organizational capability of PAKISTAN NAVY to increase its surveillance not along the country’s coastal borders, but in International Waters as well.

  1. ESM/ELINT System of RAS 72 Sea-Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA):

The RAS 72 Sea-Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) is equipped with the tactical surveillance and warning and self-protection capabilities for airborne hostile threats. Moreover, the ESM also provides data for the military intelligence system.

  1. Weapon Pylons and Store Management System:

The System also features the HD low-light cameras, Midwave Infrared (MWIR) Thermal Imager and it also features a multiple laser payload options.

  1. Line of Sight and Beyond Line of Sight Datalink Capabilities:

The RAS 72 Sea-Eagle Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) features the revolutionary Line of Sight and Beyond Line of Sight Advanced Datalink Capabilities. It features the latest Satellite Communication System (SATCOM) with the capability to send sensor data and high-definition full motion video data from the aircraft to the command centre over different airlink mediums.
