PAKISTAN’s First 7300-Ton Capacity Ship Lift And Transfer System Installs At KS&EW:
PAKISTAN’s first 7300-Ton Capacity Ship Lift and Transfer System successfully installed at the Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, PAKISTAN NAVY Media Wing Head DGPR NAVY said in an official statement.
According to the details released by the PAKISTAN NAVY Media Wing Head, PAKISTAN’s first ever Ship Lift and Transfer System with maximum capacity of 7300-Ton capacity inaugurated at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW).
Prime Minister of ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the Ceremony. PAK NAVAL CHIEF, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi also presented on the occasion.
The defense contract of the PAKISTAN’s First 7300 Tons Capacity Ship Lift and Transfer System was signed under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense Production (MoDP) with the funding provided by the Planning Commission of PAKISTAN as a Public Sector Development Program or PSDP.
The installation of the new state of the art 7300-Ton Ship Lift and Transfer System will provide repair and docking facilities to different marine vessels having a maximum weight of 7300 Tons in total. The system can accommodate a maximum of 12 ships at a time.
The installation of the new state of the art facility will significantly help to maximize the productivity of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS&EW) and it will also help to increase the demand of the Shipping industry of the Sacred Country PAKISTAN. The new installation will also help to provide repair services to both public and private industrial sectors.
While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest of the ceremony congratulated the Karachi Shipyard and Ministry of Defense Production (MoDP) for inaugurating such a modern and cutting-edge facility in PAKISTAN.
The Chief Guest considered the installation of Ship Lift and Transfer System as a gift to the Brave PAKISTANI NATION on its upcoming 75th Independence Day.
The Managing Director MD KS&EW Rear Admiral Athar Saleem in his welcome address said that the project will help to contribute the repair and shipbuilding capacity of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW).
He said that the system will help to bring a revolutionary concept against all the existing docking stations and technology, as the previous systems can only handle and repair one ship at a time.

Ship Lift & Transfer System will provide docking & repair facilities to marine vessels up to 7300 ton. At one time it can accommodate 12 ships. The facility will contribute to productivity of KS&EW & will fulfill ever increasing demand of shipping industry in country. (3/3)

There are numerous advantages of the newly new state of the art 7300-Ton Ship Lift and Transfer System, as it can easily recover a ship from the sea, Ship Lift can be immediately available to lift and lower next ship and it can easily be transferred from one repair station to another.
The installation of the new flagship project will significantly help to increase the revenue of Karachi Shipyard by high tax returns and it will provide more job opportunities for the local people as well.
