TURKISH Defense Giant ASELSAN Displays CATS And KUZGUN Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance And Targeting Pods In IDEF 2021:
TURKISH Defense Giant ASELSAN displayed its cutting-edge and hi-tech CATS and KUZGUN Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Targeting Pods at the 15th Edition of International Defense Industry Fair 2021 or IDEF 21 being held at the TÜYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul.
The Common Aperture Targeting System (CATS) and KUZGUN acts as EO Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting Pods actually serves as the eyes in the Sky and it can easily be deployed on the range of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), rotary-wing Airborne Platforms, Aircrafts and Helicopters.
The nature of both KUZGUN and CATS are somewhat slightly different from each other and they deploy different hi-tech technologies to track, trace and targeting different aerial platforms in the sky. Both pods use a wide range of hi-tech sensors packed in a compact and secured design.
ASELSAN’s both CATS and KUZGUN Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Targeting Pods are fully capable systems and they can easily fulfill all the requirements of navigation, surveillance, automatic tracking, search and tracking and surface target classification and targeting.
KUZGUN Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting Pods:
As far as the KUZGUN is concerned; it is a robust Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting Pods that offers the compact surveillance and targeting solutions. It features the dual-axis stabilization and Electronica Stabilization to record crystal clear videos and record pictures. It has a maximum weight of only 22 Kilograms in total.
In order to record the crystal clear images from the target zone, KUZGUN uses a hi-tech and cutting-edge thermal imaging sensor that can easily record crystal clear images in both day and night. Moreover, it also features the daylight TV Camera that features the gyro stabilization and continuous zoom.
The KUZGUN Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting Pods also equipped with the hi-tech diode pumped laser source, which is fully capable of designating almost any target for guidance of semi-active laser guided missiles.
The KUZGUN Surveillance and Targeting Pods can transfer real-time data and information up to the maximum range of 15 Kilometers in total with an eye-safe Laser Range Finder.

The Common Aperture Targeting System or CATS is an advanced and next generation Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting System that features the 4-axix stabilized gimbal with exceptional image performance and superior range.
CATS features the state of the art and cutting-edge Infrared / Thermal Camera, Low Light Near Infrared (LL-NIR) Camera, Day Visual Camera, Laser Pointer and Illuminator Unit (LPI) and Laser Range Finder and Designator Unit.
Moreover, it also provides the mission-centric capabilities, such as the simultaneous tracking on HDTV, Low Light Near Infrared (LL-NIR) Videos and Infrared Videos, determination of designated direction, accurate targeting of Geo-location and the accurate speed of the mobile targets.
