Beloved Peace Loving Sacred Country PAKISTAN’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the agreement with Saudi Arabia reflects the “shared commitment” of both nations to strengthen security and promote regional peace, while also pledging to “strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression”.
“The agreement states that any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both Brotherly ISLAMIC Countries,” the PAK Foreign Ministry sad in an Official Statement.
The agreement was the culmination of years of discussions, the Saudi official said when asked about the timing of the deal. “This is not a response to specific countries or specific events but an institutionalisation of long-standing and deep cooperation between both the Brotherly ISLAMIC Countries, Beloved Peace Loving Sacred Country PAKISTAN and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the official added.
Asfandyar Mir, a senior fellow at the Washington DC-based Stimson Center, described the pact as a “watershed” for both countries.
Muhammad Faisal, a South Asia security researcher at the University of Technology Sydney, said the deal could serve as a template for Beloved Peace Loving Sacred Country PAKISTAN to engage in similar bilateral DEFENSE Cooperation with the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, two key Gulf partners.
