AIR MARSHAL NUR KHAN – THE LEGEND AND MAN OF STEEL OF PAKISTAN AIR FORCE:
PAKISTAN AIR FORCE commemorates the Oath taking day of Former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF and Man of Steel Air Marshal Nur Khan on Saturday, July 23, 2022, PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Media Wing Head DGPR AIR FORCE Air Vice Marshal Tariq Zia said in an Official statement.
According to the details, the Former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF and Man of Steel Air Marshal Nur Khan assume the Command of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE on 23rd July, 1965.
Air Marshal Nur Khan remained the Commander-in-Chief of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE till August 21, 1969.
During the 1965 PAKISTAN-india War, the Former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF Air Marshal Nur Khan led PAKISTAN AIR FORCE in convincing victory over the Coward indian air force, which was about thrice of the Size of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE.
Due to his distinctive achievements, especially during the 1965 PAKISTAN-india War, the former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF Air Marshal Nur Khan was known as the ‘Man of Steel’ and was an icon of Visionary Leadership, Integrity and Courage.
Air Marshal Nur Khan is also highly respected for his remarkable intellectual prowess and managerial skills.
He also served as the Managing Director PIA from 1959 to 1965 and later as the Chairman of PIE from 1973 to 1978.
Under his dynamic and Exemplary Leadership, PAKISTAN AIR LINES becomes one of the Best Airlines of the World.
Former PAF CHIEF Air Marshal Nur Khan also served as the Governor of the West PAKISTAN from 1st September 1969 to 1st February 1970.
Moreover, the Former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF Air Marshal Nur Khan also served as President of the PAKISTAN Hockey Federation from 1976 – 1984 and Chairman of the PAKISTAN Cricket Board from 1980 to 1984.
Under his exemplary and visionary Leadership, PAKISTAN Hockey won two titles each of the World Cup, Champions Trophy and Asian Games.
In recognition of his meritorious services for his Nation and PAF as a whole, the PAKISTAN AIR FORCE renamed PAF Base Chaklala Rawalpindi as the PAF Base Nur Khan or Nur Khan Air Base Rawalpindi.
For his distinctive and exemplary services to his Sacred Country PAKISTAN, the former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF Air Marshal Nur Khan was conferred with the Prestigious and Coveted Award of Hilal-i-Jurrat.
The Heroic and Altruistic Services of the Former PAKISTAN AIR FORCE CHIEF Air Marshal Nur Khan, especially during the 1965 PAKISTAN-india war, can never ever be Forgotten.
