PAKISTAN has recently sold its Indigenous Pride JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet to the Brotherly Country Nigeria and the same has been received by the Nigeria. According to the recent reports, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that the service will formally induct the JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet in its Arsenal on May 20, 2021.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee Nigerian Air Force Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar briefed the journalist that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is all prepared to celebrate the 57th Anniversary of the Service that is scheduled to take place in Makurdi Air Force Base (AFB) during 19-20 May, 2021.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will formally inducts the JF-17 Thunder Fighter Aircraft in its fleet at the end of 57th Anniversary Celebrations, after the spectacular display, would take place on May 20, 2021.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) would celebrate its 57th Anniversary with the theme “Enhancing Nigerian Air Force Airpower Capabilities for Effective Joint Operations in Response to Contemporary National Security Challenges.”

The theme is also in tandem with the vision of Nigerian Air Force Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Oladayo Amao of “Enhancing and sustaining critical airpower capabilities required for joint force employment in pursuit of national security imperatives”.

The newly addition of the PAKISTAN’s Pride JF-17 Thunder to the Fighter Squad of Nigeria will significantly help the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to add impetus to the ongoing fight against insurgency by carrying out decisive air strikes against the banditry and the insurgency in different parts of the country.

In addition to the induction of the JF-17 Thunder, the 57th Anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) would also feature the series of other events across the country.

The Organizing Committee Chairman further added that a seminar is also scheduled to take place on May 19, 2021 that would provide the rare opportunity for the seasoned experts to brainstorm training and interoperability of the equipment in the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

It is pertinent to mention that the Brotherly Nigerian Air Force has taken the delivery of all 3 JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jets from PAKISTAN via PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Il-76 Transport Aircraft on April 29, 2021. The PAF Il-76 Transported all the three JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet to the Makurdi Air Force Base.

The registration numbers of Nigerian Air Force New JF-17 Thunder Aircraft are NAF-720, NAF-721 and NAF-722. PAKISTAN AIR FORCE (PAF) has also provided the training to the Pilots of Nigerian Air Force to become familiar with the aircraft.
