PAK ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed Bajwa Directs Troops To Step Up Quick Relief Efforts In Earthquake Affected Areas Of Balochistan:
PAK ARMY CHIEF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had directed PAKISTAN ARMY to step up the quick relief efforts and to provide all-out assistance to the civil administration to in the earthquake victims in Balochistan, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed all the concerned corners of PAKISTAN ARMTY to provide all out assistance to the civil administration to help the earthquake affectee’s in different parts of Balochistan.
“CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed troops stationed at Balochistan to provide all out assistance to civil administration in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts [to] help mitigate difficulties faced by affected population of earthquake hit areas of Balochistan,” DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar quoted COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
It is pertinent to mention that Federal and Provincial Government has launched the full-scale massive relief operation, involving the PAKISTAN ARMY, Levies and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to provide medical care to the earthquake victims. The relief efforts are provided besides the normal supplies and food to the earthquake affectee’s.
The Inspector General of Frontier Corps Major General Ayman Bilal Safdar also reached the Harnai, where he meets with the earthquake victims and oversaw the relief activities provided to them.
PAKISTAN ARMY has also dispatched the Urban Search and Rescue Team from Rawalpindi to provide all out assistance to the civil administration in the rescue and relief operation.
It is pertinent to mention that an earthquake with a magnitude struck at 3:01 am PST. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Harnai at a maximum depth of 15 Kilometers. The tremors of Earthquake were also felt in Quetta, Chaman, Sibi, Ziarat, Zhob, Loralai, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Muslim Bagh and other areas of Balochistan Province.
At least 20 people were lost their lives and 300 people substance injuries in the earthquake. The earthquake also rattled the houses, buildings and other places, thus forcing hundreds of people to come out in the open in the middle of the night.
The Provincial Home Minister of Balochistan said that most of the casualties in the Earthquake were reported from the Harnai district.
