KS&EW Hands Over Second KASHMIR Class 1550 Tonne PMSS Kolachi 144 Maritime Patrol Vessel To PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency:
PAKISTAN’s State Owned Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) handed over the new indigenously built 1550-tonne PMSS Kolachi 144 Maritime Patrol Vessel to PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) in a graceful ceremony on Thursday, November 4, 2021, PAKISTAN NAVY Media Wing Head said in an official statement.

The 1550 Tons massive Maritime Patrol Vessel is indigenously built in PAKISTAN by the PAKISTAN State owned Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) Karachi in line with the modern Naval standards and requirements.
The New PAKISTAN NAVY Kashmir Class MPV PMSS Kolachi 144 handed over to the PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency’s 26th Offshore Patrol Squadron (OSRON 26).
The newly inducted MPV PMSS Kolachi is packed with the most modern weaponry, sensors and suites to enforce maritime security and conduct the anti-piracy, search and rescue, patrolling and maritime escort missions.
The KASHMIR Class PMSS Kolachi 144 Maritime Patrol Vessel would also be used to enhance the security of PAKISTAN’s Exclusive Economic Zone in the North Arabian Sea.
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Defense highly lauded and appreciated the commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm of KS&EW, MC CSTC and PMSA during the construction of the state of the art Maritime Patrol Vessel PMSS Kolachi.
“Minister for Defense highlighted that successful completion of such a mega project in tough times of coronavirus was a testimony of strong friendly relations between the two countries i.e., PAKISTAN and CHINA,” he added.
Significance of PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency PMSS Kolachi 144 Maritime Patrol Vessel:
The PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) PMSS Kolachi 144 Maritime Patrol Vessels are fully armed with the 30mm Semi-Automatic Naval Gun, 2 x 12.77mm Machine Guns, amongst others.
Moreover, the PMSS Kolachi also has a dedicated hanger to accommodate Anti-Submarine Warfare Capable helicopter.
The PMSS Kolachi can also be armed with the additional Surface to Surface, Surface to Air and Anti-Sumarine Warfare Weaponry at short notice in wartime, if required.
It means that the newly inducted PMSS Kolachi can also be used as the prime Surface Combatant by PAKISTAN NAVY in case of dire emergency or requirement.

The PMSS Kolachi Maritime Patrol Vessels are designed with the enhanced capacity plan and now, the newly added ship has more capacity to conduct multi-missions in the North Arabian Sea.
The induction of the state of the art KASHMIR Class PMSS Kolachi 144 Maritime Patrol Vessel will significantly boost the vigilance and surveillance capability of PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and PAKISTAN NAVY.
