NATO Senior Civil Representative Stefano Pontecorvo Held Important Meeting With COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa At GHQ Rawalpindi:

Senior Civil Representative of NATO, Mr. Stefano Pontecorvo held an important meeting with PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, the Inter-Services Public Relations or ISPR, Mr Stefano Pontecorvo, Senior Civil Representative NATO called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, both the dignitaries discussed various matters of professional and mutual interest and the situation in Afghanistan after the humiliating defeat and withdrawal of US and allied forces from Afghanistan.

On the occasion, PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that there is a need for global convergence on Afghanistan. He added that global assistance is required to avoid the massive humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

“There is a need for global convergence on Afghanistan to avoid humanitarian crisis,” DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar quoted COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

During the occasion, the visiting dignitary highly lauded and appreciated the role of PAKISTAN in stabilizing the security and stability in the country.

The visiting dignitary also acknowledged the sincere efforts of PAKISTAN for undertaking the massive evacuation operations of foreign nationals from Afghanistan.

“The visiting dignitary appreciated PAKISTAN’s role in Afghan situation including successful evacuation operations and efforts for regional stability,” DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said.

“He also assured to enhance cooperation with PAKISTAN on Afghanistan and regular engagement by the NATO countries for all bilateral issues,” DG ISPR quoted the visiting dignitary.

The visiting dignitary also assured that NATO Countries will enhance the Cooperation with both countries, PAKISTAN and Afghanistan, on all bilateral issues.
