CHINA Installs Hualong One Reactor Internals at Karachi Nuclear Power Plant:
PAKISTAN’s Iron Brother and All-Weather Ally CHINA has installed the Hualong One Reactor Internals at the Nuclear power plant in Karachi.
According to the details released by the World Nuclear News, CHINA National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has installed the Hualong Rector Internal in the under-construction unit Number 3 of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant.
The company has announced the installation of Hualong Reactor Internal at Unit Number 3 of Karachi Nuclear Power Plant back April, 4, 2020. China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has termed the installation of Hualong Reactor Internal at Unit 2 of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant as a “solid foundation” for the starting of cold tests and flushing unit’s primary circuit and the start of cold tests.

CHINA’s state owned Nuclear Corporation is building two numbers Hualong Reactor Internal at Karachi Nuclear Power Plant. The company has successfully installed the Hualong Reactor Internal at the Unit Number 2 of the Karachi Nuclear back in Jan, 2019.
The installation of the Reactor internals at Unit 2 and Unit 3 of Karachi Nuclear Power Plant is the first ever export of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and it begins the construction on booth units in 2015 and 2016 respectively
According to China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), Karachi Nuclear Power Plant Unit Number 2 and 3 will become operational in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is also installing six Hualong Reactor Internals in its native country CHINA. The company is building the two reactors at Fangchenggang Site in Guangxi province and other two units at Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant in Fujian Province, CHINA. All the four units will be operational in the year of 2020.
The company is aiming to increase its footprint in the nuclear power sector across the globe. The company is expected to construct Hualong Nuclear Reactors in England and South America this year.
What are Nuclear Reactor Internals?
Nuclear Reactor Internals are basically known as the critical component used within a reactor pressure vessel that support more than one function at a time as providing effective radiation shields of the reactor vessel, maintaining overall fuel alignment, directing flow of coolant within the reactor, and guiding in-core instrumentation.
The Hualong Nuclear Reactor developed by the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is the main rival to European-made Evolutionary Pressurized Reactor and US-made AP1000. The CHINESE Nuclear Reactor has beaten both the US and European Nuclear Reactor in terms of efficiency, cost and technology.
