DG INTER-SERVICES INTELLIGENCE (DG ISI), Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has sworn in as the New Corps Commander Peshawar Corps, also known as the XI Corps, in a prestigious ceremony held at Corps Headquarter Peshawar on Monday, November 22, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details, after serving the Sacred Country PAKISTAN as DG ISI, Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed as took over the Command of Peshawar Corps from Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood in a graceful and prestigious ceremony held at Corps HQ Peshawar.

“Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood handed over Command of Peshawar Corps to Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed today at Corps Headquarters Peshawar,” DG ISPR said in an official statement.

The recent development has brought the Former Head of PAKISTAN’s most feared and respected Intelligence Agency, the INTER-SERVICES INTELLIGENCE or ISI, closer to becoming the next PAK ARMY CHIEF (CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF), after the retirement of the current COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

It is the very first time in his life that Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed is commanding a Corps of PAKISTAN ARMY, which is required by all the Officers of PAKISTAN ARMY before holding the Command of PAKISTAN ARMY, which is known as the World’s most courageous and Battle-Hardened ARMED FORCES.

The current CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa is due to retire at the end of Next Year.

The recent deployment of Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed can be seen for his formidable role that he played during the withdrawal and humiliating defeat of US and allied forces from Afghanistan.

Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed was appointed as the DG ISI on 16th June, 2019 and he has served on the post for nearly about 2.5 years.

Prior his appointment as the DG ISI, Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed was serving his duty as the Adjutant General at the PAKISTAN ARMY General Headquarters or GHQ.

The new Commander XI Corps hails from the Chakwal and he got commissioned in the famed Baloch Regiment of PAKISTAN ARMY.

The earlier appointments of Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, includes the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Pannu Aqil, Chief of Staff Rawalpindi X Corps and DG ISI Counter Intelligence.

The announcement of former DG ISI Lieutenant General was made by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar back in October 16, 2021.

Top Defense Analysts are terming the decision as of great significance for PAKISTAN, as the former DG ISI Lt General Faiz Hameed has a huge experience of fighting against the indian state sponsored and indian state funded terrorist elements in the Sacred Country PAKISTAN.

According to the notification, Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum would hold the Command of PAKISTAN Most Respected, Feared and Potent Intelligence Agency, the INTER-SERVICES INTELLIGENCE or ISI, after Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed.
