PAKISTAN And Saudi Arabia Bilateral Special Forces Exercise AL-SAMSAAM-VIII-22 Kicks Off At National Counter Terrorism Centre Pabbi:

The eighth Edition of PAKISTAN and Saudi Arabia Special Forces Exercise AL-SAMSAAM-VIII-22 successfully kicks off at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi on Thursday, February 24, 2022, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details, the Two weeks long AL-SAMSAAM-VIII-22 has successfully started at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Pabbi between PAKISTAN ARMY’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Special Forces.

The Joint Special Forces Exercise between PAKISTAN and Saudi Special Forces will focus on Counter-Terrorism Operations, including dealing with Improvised Explosive Device (IED)s, Search and Rescue, Combat Patrols, Cordon and Hostage Rescue missions.

“The joint exercise will focus on counter-terrorism operations, including cordon and search, combat patrols, and dealing with IEDs,” PAKISTAN MILITARY Media Wing Head, the INTER-SERVICES Public Relations, said in an official statement.

“The exercise provided participating troops with an opportunity to benchmark their respective operational practices and procedures as well as learn from each other’s experiences,” DG ISPR added.

PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing added that the AL-SAMSAAM-VIII-22 will provide an opportunity for the Special Forces Operators of both the Friendly Countries to optimize their procedures, tactics and operational practices, as well as to learn from each other’s experience.

It is pertinent to mention that the PAKISTAN and Saudi Arabia Special Forces Exercise AL-SAMSAAM have been conducted on a biennial basis in alternatively PAKISTAN and Saudi Arabia, since 2004.

In the same manner, PAKISTAN and Saudi Arabia ARMED FORCES also carried out the joint Counter-IED Exercise named as the Al-Kassah-III, which was held at the King Khalid Military City Hafar Al-Batin in Saudi Arabia.

“The Royal Land Saudi Forces and PAKISTAN ARMY Troops will practice various drills involved in counter IED operations including searching of routes, compound clearance, vehicle clearance, explosive handling and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) drills and procedures,” PAK ARMY Media Wing said.

It is expected that the recent commencement of the PAKISTAN and Saudi Arabia Bilateral Special Forces Exercise AL-SAMSAAM-VIII-22 will significantly help to furthers strengthen the Bilateral Defense, Security and Military to Military relations between the ARMED, NAVAL and AIR FORCES of both the Friendly Countries.
