PAKISTAN and Ukraine agreed in discipline to collaborate and enhance the Defense cooperation between the Two Countries by Transfer of Technology (ToT) and Joint Ventures.

The new development came after the high-profile visit of PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa to Ukraine, where he meets with the Top Civilian and Military Leadership of Ukraine.

During the visit, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was given a demonstration of KB LUCH’s Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM’s), Oplot Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) and New Ukrainian Amphibious Armored Personnel Carriers.

Ukraine Defense Minister Andriy Taran highlighted that Ukraine is developing most potent Weapons Systems during a meeting with CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

“PAKISTAN is keen to strengthen its defense cooperation with Ukraine in the future based on technology transfer and joint ventures, as both sides can benefit from each other’s experience,” COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said after the high-profile meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister.

PAK ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed Bajwa also inspects the Ukrainian Oplot Main Battle Tank at a test site in the suburbs of Kharkov.

Both Countries, PAKISTAN and Ukraine, fully agreed to further enhance the Defense Cooperation and military to military, in the domains of training, defense production, intelligence and counter-terrorism operations.

Ukraine Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that the upcoming meeting of PAKISTAN-Ukraine working team on Military Technology and Defense will be held in PAKISTAN.

PAKISTAN, as a major regional power, is also using other options to fulfill all its Defense needs, despite the cooperation of its Iron Brother CHINA.

The Defense relations between PAKISTAN and Ukraine have started back in 1990s, when Islamabad purchased T-80UD Main Battle Tanks from the country.

In February 2021, Ukraine Defense Giant UkrOboronProm has also cut the deal for the upgradation and modernization of PAKISTAN ARMY’s T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) for $85.6 million.

“Our armor-manufacturing companies are constantly updating their production capacity and improving technologies that ensure high-quality work and products,” Chief Executive Officer of UkrOboronProm Yuri Gusev said.

“We also discussed with PAKISTAN new orders for the supply of 6TD1 and 6TD2 engines,” CEO of UkrOboronProm Yuri Gusev added.

The 6TD1 and 6TD2 Engine will power the PAKISTAN indigenous “Al-Khalid Main Battle Tanks, which is a derivative of CHINESE Norinco Type 90IIM Main Battle Tanks.

The recent defense agreement will significantly help to increase the Bilateral Defense Ties between both Countries, PAKISTAN and Ukraine and it will be the mutually benefit for both the countries.
