PAKISTAN ARMY has reportedly deployed thousands of Armed Unmanned Aerial Ground Vehicles (UGVs) near the indian border.

The variant of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), which PAKISTAN ARMY had deployed near the indian border bears somewhat resemblance to the Russian-made Platform-M Unmanned Ground Vehicle.

According to the details, the Platform-M Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) deployed by PAKISTAN ARMY is equipped with the state of the art RPG-26 Grenade Launchers and 7.62 mm Kalashnikovs Rifles.

Both the Machine Gun and Grenade Launcher can easily be integrated In the robotic controlled vehicle. The maximum speed of the vehicle is 25 Km/HR.

Furthermore, the vehicle can also be directed up to 16 Kilometers rage by using the cutting-edge Line of Sight (LOS) Technology.

The Platform-M is packed with the robust radio reconnaissance and optical-electronic locators, which enables the Platform-M Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) to perform sophisticated combat tasks both days and nights, all terrains and in adverse weather conditions.

The Unmanned Ground Vehicles deployed by PAKISTAN ARMY close to the indian border in its western theater, can be used intelligence gathering operations, discovering and destroying movable and fixed hostile targets, reconnaissance and firepower support mission.

The deploying of Armed Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) will further help the PAKISTAN ARMY to strengthen its offensive and defensive capabilities against the indian armed forces, who often used to target innocent civilian population along the Line of Control (LOC).

Having said that, the robotic controlled and Armed Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) will help the PAKISTAN ARMED FORCES to monitor the situation closely at a remote location.

Furthermore, it will also allow the PAKISTANI SECURITY FORCES to hunt down indian soldiers like dogs and cats along the Line of Control with UGV mounted Machine Guns and RPG in both day and nights and in in harsh weather conditions.

The Platform-M is developed by the Progress Scientific Research Technological Institute of Izhevsk on the order of Russian Ministry of Defense.

Russia first-time showcased its Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) during the Victory Day Parade in Kaliningrad on May 9, 2015.

CMD Chief, Colonel General Vladimir Zarudnitsky said, “The Russian special forces units of the Central Military District have received the first Platform-M UGVs, equipped with machine guns and anti-tank rocket launchers.”

“The robots are intended for intelligence, detection and elimination of moving and static targets, fire support and security”, Vladmiri Zarudnitsky concluded.
