PAKISTAN Gets Delivery Of Additional VT4 Main Battle Tanks And Al-Khalid-1 Parts From Iron Brother CHINA:

PAKISTAN has taken the delivery of additional VT4 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) and the part and components for the Al-Khalid I from PAKISTAN Iron Brother CHINA’s state owned Norinco Group. The details of the procurement revealed from the publicly available import-export figures.

According to the details, PAKISTAN has taken the delivery of undisclosed numbers of VT4 Main Battle Tanks and the sub-assemblies of Al-Khalid I Main Battle Tanks in different shipping consignments from CHINA’s state owned Norinco Group.

It is pertinent to mention that PAKISTAN has secured the Multi-Million Dollar Defense Deal with its Iron Brother CHINA for the procurement of undisclosed numbers of CHINESE Third Generation VT4 Main Battle Tank from Norinco.

PAKISTAN ARMY has evaluated the acquisition of VT4 Main Battle Tank (MBT) as part of its Haider Main Battle Tank (MBT) program. PAKISTAN ARMY has announced the Haider program as an off-the-shelf solution to keep a pace I for its Al-Khalid I Main Battle Tank series.

PAKISTAN ARMY has aggressively evaluated the CHINESE Third Generation VT4 Main Battle Tank and Ukrainian Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB) Oplot-P and after intense trials, selected the CHINESE VT4 Third Generation Tanks in late 2018.

The total numbers of the VT4 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) and the total value of the contract is undisclosed.

The Al-Khalid I Main Battle Tank (MBT) is basically a joint venture between PAKISTAN, CHINA and Ukraine and the main aim behind the creation of Al-Khalid I MBT program is to gradually replace the 300 numbers of Type 85 and 320 numbers of T-80UD Main Battle Tanks.

PAKISTAN ARMY placed an order for the procurement of 110 units of Al-Khalid I Main Battle Tanks with PAKISTAN’s state owned Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT). The Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) has delivered 45 numbers of Al-Khalid I Main Battle Tank between the year of 2015 – 2018.

CHINA’s state owned Norinco is engaged in delivering the components and parts of Al-Khalid I Main Battle Tank through 2020 and 2021.

PAKISTAN is also aggressively working on the most powerful Al-Khalid 2 Main Battle Tank in its inventor till date. Al-Khalid 2 Main Battle Tank would be powered by a 1,500 HP engine and it would also be equipped with the TURKEY’s next generation Electronics package.
