CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi said PAKISTAN NAVY to Arm Its Fleet With CHINESE AIP Submarines and Warships:
CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Naizi said that PAKISTAN NAVY is looking forward for the acquisition of Eight Numbers of State of the Art CHINESE Hangor Class AIP Submarines and Four numbers of Modern CHINESE Warships in its arsenal in coming years.
Hangor-Class AIP Submarines:
During the interview, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has added that PAKISTAN has already signed a contract with its Iron Brother CHINA for the procurement of four numbers of Hangor-Class AIP Submarines.
Under the contract, 4 AIP Submarines would be built CHINA, while the next 4 AIP Submarines would be constructed completely at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) under Transfer of Technology (ToT).
Type 054A/P Warships:
In an interview with credible CHINESE media outlet Global Times, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi said that PAKISTAN has sealed the contract for the procurement of four numbers of state of the art Type 054A/P Warships with its Iron Brother CHINA back in 2017.
Amongst the four warships, PAKISTAN NAVY has already received the first Type 054A/P Warship from its iron Brother CHINA back in August 2020.
CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has categorically made it clear that PAKISTAN NAVY, who is currently in the process of massive upgradation and modernization, is looking to replace its ageing fleet of Old Naval Platforms with the modern and latest ones in order to increase its offensive capabilities against india, who is the Enemy Number 1 of both Iron Brother Countries, CHINA and PAKISTAN.
Engine:
As far as the Type 054A/P Warships are concerned; it will be powered by the performance proven Combined Diesel and Diesel (CODAD) Propulsion system, including the Shaanxi 16 PA6 STC Diesel Engines. The each engine is capable of generating 5700 kW in total.
Crew and Speed:
The Type 054A/P Warships can attain a maximum speed of 27 knots and have an estimated maximum cruising range of 14,862 Kilometers or 8,025 miles in total.
The Warship has a maximum crew capacity of up to 165 people, including technical staff.
Radar:
Upon the special request from the PAKISTAN NAVY, the Type 054A/P Warships would be equipped with the performance proven SR2410 Phased Array Radar that would be used to detect hostile enemy ships from hundreds of kilometers.
Armament:
The Type 054A/P Warships would be armed with the revolutionary YJ-12 Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles and onboard lethal 32-cell Vertical Launching System (VLS).
The other armaments of the Type 054A/P Frigate includes:
- 8 numbers of C-803 Anti-Ship/Land Attack Cruise Missiles
- 2 x Type 730 or Type 1130 7-barrel 30mm Close In Weapon System (CIWS)
- 1 x PJ26 76 mm dual-purpose naval gun
- 6 x 324mm Yu-7 Anti-Submarine Warfare Torpedo Launchers
- 2 x 87 240mm Anti-Submarine Rocket Launchers with capacity of 36 Rockets
- 2 x Type 726-4 18-Tube Decoy Rocket Launchers
On the occasion, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi also praised PEOPLE’S LIBERATION ARMY NAVY (PLAN) for inducting the Second Aircraft Carrier and welcomed them to join the 7th Edition of AMAN-21 Multinational Naval Exercise being organized by PAKISTAN NAVY on February 2021.
