PAKISTAN NAVY Ship PNS ZULFIQUAR Participated In PASSEX Exercise With Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) In Gulf Of Aden:
PAKISTAN NAVY Ship PNS ZULFIQUAR participated in the Passage Exercise (PASSEX) Exercise with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) in the Gulf of Aden.
From JMSDF, Onami ship participated in the exercise. The warships of both PAKISTAN and Japan are operating in the highly contested area of the Gulf of Aden to ensure the security of international shipping and to counter privacy.
Apart from participating in the Passage Exercise (PASSEX) Exercise, PAKISTAN NAVY Ship PNS ZULFIQUAR is also undertaking the Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) in the Gulf of Aden.
The basic aim of the Passage Exercise (PASSEX) is to enhance the interoperability between the Naval forces of both the countries, PAKISTAN and Japan, and to enhance the bilateral cooperation to ensure the maritime security in the region.
A statement issued by PAKISTAN NAVY reads, “The exercise is testimony of the PN’s resolve to provide a secure maritime environment in the global commons for international shipping and contribute towards international efforts to counter illicit activities at sea.”

The participation of PAKISTAN NAVY Warship in the Passage Exercise (PASSEX) is the testimony and resolve of PAKISTAN NAVY to ensure and provide the safe and secure maritime passage and environment for international shipping and to contribute towards the piracy efforts at sea.
