COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa Installs Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan As Colonel Commandant Of The Punjab Regiment:
PAK ARMY CHIEF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa installed Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan as the new Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment on Friday, July 2, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC) and installed the Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan as the new Colonel Commandant of Punjab Regiment.
New Colonel Commandant of Punjab Regiment Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan was previously holding the responsibility of Inspector General Arms at GHQ Rawalpindi.
Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan will reportedly replace the outgoing Colonel Commandant of Punjab Regiment Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza (Retired).
During the occasion, a large number of serving and retired Officers and Soldiers of PAKISTAN ARMY attended the ceremony.

“During the visit, COAS installed Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Inspector General Arms as Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment. Outgoing Colonel Commandant of the Punjab Regiment, Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza (Retired), a large number of serving and retired officers and soldiers attended the ceremony,” DG ISPR said.
While interacting with the Officers and Troops of PAKISTAN ARMY, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa highly appreciated and lauded the Punjab Regiment for displaying the highest professional standards, including the battle performance.
On the occasion, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa categorically made it clear that PAKISTAN ARMY would do all the possible efforts to modernize the Arm of the Infantry in order to successfully cope up the security threats posed to the Sacred Country PAKISTAN.
“COAS General Bajwa said that PAKISTAN ARMY would do all that is possible efforts to modernize the arm of the Infantry as part of its overall drive to prepare for future threats,” DG ISPR said.
Earlier, on the arrival at the Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC), CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was warmly greeted and received by the outgoing Colonel Commandant Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza and Commandants of the Punjab Regiment Centre. COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa also laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
