The need of cleaning the oceans from Oil spills was felt after the catastrophic incident of MV TASMAN Spirit in Karachi back in 2003. Subsequently, the National Marine Disaster Contingency Plan (NMDCP) was equipped with the modern tools, apparatus and technology and it worked with PAKISTAN NAVY and PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) to fight the pollution and oil spillage at sea.

The best part of the Multinational Annual Oil Spill Response BARRACUDA – X Exercise is that the more than 25 different countries are participating in the exercise organized by PAKISTAN NAVY (PN) and PAKISTAN Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).
