PAKISTAN Iron Brother CHINA Test Fires Mid-Course Anti-Ballistic Missile System Capable Of Hitting Targets Outside Earth’s Atmosphere:
PAKISTAN Iron Brother CHINA has tested a land based Mid-Course Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) system that is fully capable to destroy the targets outside the Earth’s Atmosphere with pinpoint accuracy.
This is the test of the 5th land-based Anti-Ballistic Missile System that CHINA has announced publicly.
According to the details released by the CHINESE Ministry of National Defense, “The test is of a defensive nature and is not aimed at any country.”
The basic flight of ballistic missile usually consists of three phases as the boost phase in which the rocket propeller will bring the power to take the missile into the sky.
In the second phase, the mid-course phase in which the propeller stops and the missile start ascent outside of the atmosphere and in the third phase/stage consist of terminal or reentry phase in which the missile starts descending to the atmosphere and follow its pre-designated path of target.
The most crucial phase of the Ballistic Missile among all the three stages is the Mid-Course, as in this phase the missile can be intercepted by the Anti-Ballistic Missile System.
A Leading CHINESE Military Expert Song Zhongping said, “A mid-course ABM means to intercept the missile while it is in its free flight phase outside of the atmosphere.”
The overall duration of the mid-course is comparatively longer than the other two stages/phases, as the probability of hitting the missile is based in line with the high trajectory of the missile.
“While the duration of the mid-course phase is relatively long, the great difficulty of an interception lies in the high trajectory. The target of the interception is usually intermediate-range or intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM),” Song Zhongping added.
Technically, the most easiest way to intercept and hit the Ballistic Missile in the boost phase, because at this stage, the missile is still on the ground and accelerating and it’s quite easy for any Anti-Ballistic Missile System to hit and destroy the missile in the first phase.
However, this method is not so easy, as it seems to as it is usually very difficult for the air defense forces to get near the launch site of the missile, which is deep inside the hostile territory.
However, in the terminal phase, it is very difficult to intercept the missile, as the missile starts descending to the pre-set target at a very high speed and it is very difficult to engage and hit the missile at that speed.
PAKISTAN Iron Brother CHINA has previously carried out the Tests of Anti-Ballistic Missile System back in 2019, 2013, 2014 and 2018. As the CHINESE PLA Forces are focusing on enhancing its battle preparedness and combat readiness capabilities.
It is very important to establish a robust Anti-Missile Air Defense System particularly against the Intercontinental and Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles, which are usually armed with both the Conventional and Nuclear Warheads, so it is really important to strike and destroy the targets in the atmosphere before it reaches to the third stage.
