CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director General INTER-SERVICES INTELLIGENCE (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid held One on One important meeting with Afghan President and Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation in Kabul during an official long day visit to Afghanistan, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head Director General Inter-Services Public Relation (DG ISPR), COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa and DG ISI Lt General Faiz Hamid visits Afghanistan on a day long visit and meet with Afghan President and Chief of the Defense Staff (UK) General Nicholas Patrick Carter.

“General Qamar Javed Bajwa, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS), visited Kabul, Afghanistan for a day long official visit today. He held meeting with H.E Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan. General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter, Chief of the Defence Staff UK was also present during the meeting,” DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said.

During the meeting, different matters pertaining of current developments in the ongoing Afghan Peace Process and mutual interest came into discussion. Both the sides also discussed the various measures to enhance the Bilateral Security & Defense Cooperation for the effective border management.

On the occasion, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated the firm resolve and commitment that a peaceful Afghanistan is in the interest of PAKISTAN and a peaceful Afghanistan means a peaceful region in general and peaceful Sacred Country PAKISTAN in particular.

COAS reiterated that a peaceful Afghanistan means a peaceful region in general and a peaceful PAKISTAN in particular. We will always support “Afghan led-Afghan Owned” Peace Process based on mutual consensus of all stakeholders,” DG ISPR quoted COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

On the occasion, Afghan President especially thanked COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa for the positive role and the sincere efforts of PAKISTAN for the ongoing Afghan Peace Process.

During the meeting with the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation of Afghanistan, both dignitaries discussed various matters related to the ongoing Afghan Peace Process.
