COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa Witnesses The Commissioning Ceremony Of Hi-Tech CHINESE HQ-9/P High To Medium Altitude Air Defense System:

CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa witnessed the commissioning ceremony of state of the art CHINESE HQ-9/P High To Medium Altitude Air Defense System (HIMADS) during a visit to the PAKISTAN AIR DEFENSE Command on Thursday, October 14, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, the Inter-Services Public Relations or ISPR, PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed Bajwa visits the PAKISTAN AIR DEFENSE Centre Karachi, where he witnessed the commissioning ceremony of state of the art and hi-tech CHINESE HQ-9/P High to Medium Altitude Air Defense System (HIMADS).

Upon arrival at the PAKISTAN ARMY AIR DEFENSE Centre Karachi, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa laid floral wreath at the Shuhahda Monument to pay homage and rich tribute to the Sacred Martyr’s of this Sacred Country PAKISTAN.

The term “P” in CHINESE HQ-9/P High To Medium Altitude Air Defense System (HIMADS) stands for “PAKISTAN” and indicates that the Air Defense System specially configured according to the ‘Special Requirements’ of PAKISTAN AIR DEFENSE.

Later, PAK ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed Bajwa witnessed the commissioning ceremony of the hi-tech and lethal CHINESE HQ-9/P HIMADS (High TO Medium Altitude Air Defense System) in the arsenal of PAKISTAN ARMY AIR DEFENSE Command.

Top Senior CHINESE PEOPLE’S LIBERATION ARMY Officials were also present on the occasion and witnessed the induction ceremony of HQ-9/P HIMADS in PAKISTAN ARMY’s Air DEFENSE COMMAND.

PAKISTAN has bought the undisclosed Batteries of CHINESE HQ-9/P High to Medium Altitude Air Defense System from its Iron Brother CHINA.

“Later, COAS witnessed commissioning of state of the art CHINESE origin HQ-9/P HIMADS (High to Medium Air Defence System) into PAKISTAN ARMY Air Defence. Lieutenant General Hamood uz Zaman Khan; Commander Army Air Defence Command briefed COAS about strategic weapon system,” DG ISPR said.

Commander PAKISTAN ARMY AIR DEFENSE COMMAND, Lieutenant General Hamood Uz Zaman Khan briefed PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed about the newly inducted Strategic HQ-9/P High To Medium Altitude Air Defense System (HIMADS).

The induction of the CHINESE HQ-9/P High to Medium Altitude Air Defense System (HIMADS) will boost PAKISTAN’s AIR DEFENSE requirements by enhancing the Comprehensive Layered Integrated Air Defense (CLIAD) Shield at the Sacred Frontiers of this Sacred Country PAKISTAN.

“Induction of HIMADS will significantly enhance Comprehensive Layered Integrated Air Defence (CLIAD) shield of aerial frontiers of PAKISTAN as the system is fully integrated through a well-knit Digitized System on its inventory,” DG ISPR added.

“Capable of intercepting multiple air targets including aircrafts, cruise missiles and Beyond Visual Range Weapons at ranges over 100 kilometers with Single Shot Kill Probability, HQ-9/P is considered as a strategic long-range Surface to Air Missile (SAM) with remarkable flexibility and precision,” DG ISPR added.

The newly commissioned HQ-9/P HIMADS is a robust air defense system that is fully capable of intercepting and engaging multiple aerial targets, including stealth aircrafts, Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Weapons and low-flying Cruise Missiles at the ranges of over 100 Kilometers with single shot Kill Probability.

While speaking at the occasion, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that the induction of the state of the art HQ-9/P High to Medium Altitude Air Defense System (HIMADS) in PAKISTAN ARMY’s Arsenal will make the Defense of Sacred Country PAKISTAN impregnable in the emerging threat scenario.

While highlighting the significance and importance of the Air Defense System in Country’s Defense COAS General Bajwa said that exemplary cohesiveness and interoperability between PAKISTAN TRI-ARMED SERVICES, including PAKISTAN ARMY, PAKISTAN NAVY and PAKISTAN AIR FORCE, has made the Defense of Sacred Country PAKISTAN impenetrable.

While lauding the PAKISTAN-CHINA Strategic, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that induction and commissioning of HQ-9/P HIMADS is another manifestation of the all-weather strategic ties between both Iron Brothers, PAKISTAN and CHINA.

“COAS said that induction of high-tech systems will make PAKISTAN’s air defence impenetrable in the emerging threat scenario. Highlighting the criticality of air defence in the overall defence of motherland, COAS said exemplary synergy between PAKISTAN AIR FORCE and PAKISTAN ARMY Air Defence makes country’s air defence impregnable,” DG ISPR quoted the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Earlier in September 2021, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa also inaugurated the hi-tech Centre of Integrated Air Defense Battle Management (CIADBM) at PAKISTAN AIR DEFENSE COMMAND.

It is pertinent to mention that the news of the induction of CHINESE HQ-9 or FD-2000 Air Defense System was first surfaced back in February 2020 in the satellite image.

In the image, some batteries of CHINESE HQ-9 Long Range Air Defense System were spotted at an undisclosed location, somewhere in the Sacred Country PAKISTAN. While at that time, neither CHINA nor PAKISTAN either confirmed or denied the reports.

Top Defense Analysts are terming the induction of CHINESE HQ-9/P High To Medium Altitude Air Defense System as another leap forward and milestone in the Air Defense Domain of PAKISTAN.
