More worries for coward indian security forces, as Satellite Imagery revealed that PAKISTAN has inducted the CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) in its Arsenal. Satellite images captured the images of HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) Battery in an undisclosed location somewhere in PAKISTAN.

           

Reportedly, PAKISTAN has acquired the CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) with unknown batteries to counter the indian move of S-400 Long Range Air Defense System.

Now, after deploying the HQ-16 based LY-80 Medium Range Air Defense System (MRAD), PAKISTAN was discussing the possible acquisition of CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) in its arsenal.

The FD-2000 is the export version of the HQ-9 Long Range Air Defense System and CHINA has previously exported the FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense Missile System (LRAD) to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

The CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) is a robust Long Range Surface to Air Missile system and it is broadly equivalent to the renowned Russian S-300 Air Defense System.

This Air Defense Missile system has a maximum range up top 250 Kilometers and it can track the targets at an altitude up to 50 Kilometers. The HQ-9B Missile features the infrared homing mode and dual seeker with semi-active radar homing mode.

  1. HQ-9C:

The HQ-9C is an improved version of the HQ-9B Long Range Air Defense System and it features the Active Radar Homing Mode.

  1. HQ-19:

It is the much upgraded version of the CHINESE HQ-9 / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD). This version of Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) is equivalent to US Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System (THAAD). The HQ-19 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) was developed to engaged Satellite on Lower Earth Orbit and Ballistic Missiles. Furthermore, this variant of HQ-9 LRAD also comes with Kinetic Kill Vehicle.

  1. FD-2000 Export Version of HQ-9:

It is another improved version of the CHINESE HQ-9 / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD). It is basically an Anti-Radiation missile System designed and manufactured to intercept air radiation sources and jamming planes.

The missiles used in this system features the passive homing. This missile system can engage and track enemy targets up to the maximum range up to massive 100 Kilometers and it can easily reach at an altitude up to 20 Kilometers. This system also operates in line passive surveillance system.

  1. FD-2000 Another Export Version of HQ-9 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD): 

It is another much improved version of the HQ-9. CHINA has revealed this system to the public back in 2012. This system also has anti-stealth tracking and engagement capability. CHINA has exported this system previously to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

  1. HHQ-9 Naval Version of HQ-9 Long Range Air Defense System:

The HHQ-9 is basically a Naval Version of the CHINESE HQ-9 / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD). This SAM system is identical to the land-based variant. CHINA has used this Surface to Air Missile system in its advanced Guided Missile Destroyers. All the missiles from this system launched from the vertical tubes.

  1. HHQ-9A Naval Version of HQ-9 Long Range Air Defense System:

It is the much improved Naval version of the HQ-9 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD). In performance wise, this system is equivalent to the CHINESE land-based HQ-9A Air Defense Missile System.

Technical Specifications of CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD).:

  1. Missile Launcher Unit (MLU):

The Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) used in the Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) of CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) consists of a total 4 missile container. In firing position, all the 4 missile containers are the vertical side at the rear side of the Transport Erector Launcher (TEL). Two stabilizers are deployed at the center and rear of the chassis.

  1. Missiles:

The missiles used in the CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) is basically a two-stage missile system. The diameter of the first stage is 700 mm, while the second stage diameter is up to 560 mm. The missile has a total length up to 6.8 meters and it has a total weight up to massive 2 tons.

The Missile used in the CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) also features the Thrust Vector Control (TVC) and this distinguish feature makes it different from the S300V Air Defense System. The reason is that the Thrust Vector Control of the HQ-9 is exposed and it can easily be observed from the outside.

The HQ-9 Guidance System consists of Active Radar Terminal Guidance System and Inertial Guidance plus mid-course Uplink Systems.

The CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) is mounted on the CHINESE TAS-5380 8×8 Truck Chassis, which is based on the Russian MAZ-543 Truck. The truck is powered by an Air Cooled Diesel Engine.

Command and Control Vehicles of CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD):

One battery of CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) consists of 6 Transport Erector Launchers (TEL) linked to a HT-233 3D C-band mono-pulse planar Phased Array Radar, which works under the control of TWS-312 battery command post.

The radars used in the CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) can track and detect targets in the Azimuth (360 degrees) and elevation up to (0 to 65 degrees). The radar of the HQ-9 SAM is capable to track 100 airborne targets simultaneously and it can simultaneously engage more than 50 targets in total.

The CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) can be integrated with Several radars, including the Anti-Stealth and Anti-Ballistic radars. The HQ-9 System uses the low altitude radar Type 120, Search Radar Type 305B, the Passive Radar YLC-20, the Search Radar Type 305A and the passive Radar DWL-002.

One Battery of the CHINESE HQ-9C / FD-2000 Long Range Air Defense System (LRAD) consists of One Command and Control Vehicle, 6 Search Radar Vehicles, 6 Targeting Vehicles, Missile Launch Vehicles, Positioning Vehicle, a power supply vehicle, a Communication Vehicle and a support vehicle.
