First Batch Of CHINESE CH-4 Rainbow Combat Drones Arrives In PAKISTAN:

The first Batch of CHINESE CH-4 Rainbow Armed/Combat Drones arrives in PAKISTAN. PAKISTAN gets delivery of undisclosed numbers of Rainbow CH4 Combat Drones from its Iron Brother CHINA via a shipment on January 15, 2021.

According to the details, CHINA’s state owned Defense Contractor Aerospace Long-March International Trade (ALIT) has exported the 21 pieces of equipment of drones, other than drones to PAKISTAN. The name of the customer was mentioned as the ‘Headquarter Civil Works Organization”.

The details released by the PAKISTAN Custom Department suggested that CHINA’s Aerospace Long-March International Trade (ALIT) has delivered undisclosed numbers of CH4 Combat Drones to PAKISTAN along with supporting equipment in 5 cases.

This could potentially mean that PAKISTAN has received the initial batch of CH-4B Drones from its Iron Brother CHINA meant for limited utilization and testing purposes and it eventually followed by the larger batch in near future as well.

By getting the delivery of Rainbow CH4 Combat/Armed Drones, PAKISTAN has joined the list of Jordan, Iraq, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Myanmar as an operator of CHINESE CH4 Combat Drones.

It is still unclear whether PAKISTAN has ordered the CH-4A or CH-4B variant, but Top Defense Analysts are suggesting that it could be a CH-4B Combat Drone as CHINA has always exported the upgraded and modernized versions of sophisticated weapons to its Iron Brother PAKISTAN.

The CH-Series Combat Drones is amongst the most successful Military Exports of CHINA and most of the biased US and especially western analysts believe that it is based on US MQ-9 Reaper Combat Drone.

With these missiles, the CH-4 Combat Drone can be a formidable close-combat weapon, especially against stationary, slow and high moving targets.

The CH-4 Rainbow Battlefield Combat Drone can easily be equipped up to 4 numbers of 50 Kilograms each AR-2 precision guided missiles, which is a close competitor of the US Hellfire missile.

The CH-4 UCAV is also capable to precisely target those specific ground targets of the enemy, which don’t have the drone detection technology.

The talks between Iron Brothers, PAKISTAN and CHINA, regarding the purchase of CH-4 Combat Drones surfaced back in 2016 when the lead designer of drones at CHINA Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), Shi Wen, has categorically made a statement that CASC is negotiating for the potential sale of CH-4 Armed Drone to a potential South Asian Customers.

A Wing Loong II Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) was crashed in Mianwali, PAKISTAN back on June 2016, which clearly implies that PAKISTAN MILITARY was evaluating the CHINESE Combat Drones in experimental testing flights.

After the acquisition of CHINESE CH-4 Rainbow Combat Drone, PAKISTAN has got another Armed Drone in its Arsenal along with the Burraq Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV).

PAKISTAN MILITARY has categorically made it clear that PAKISTAN ARMY is acquiring the undisclosed numbers of Combat Drones from its Iron Brother CHINA for deployment along the Line of Control or LoC.

The CH-4 Battlefield Unmanned Aerial Vehicle has a total length of up to 8.5 meters and a wingspan of 18 meters.

The CH-4 Armed/reconnaissance drone is powered by the 100 horsepower class Piston Engine that gives this armed drone a top speed of 235 km/h and a cruise speed of 180 km/h. The CH-4 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle has a total endurance of up to 40 Hours in total.

The maximum take-off weight of the CH-4 Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is 1300 Kilograms and the maximum payload of the CH-4 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) is 345 Kilograms in total in addition to synthetic aperture radar and electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) turret.

It is pertinent to mention that state owned PAKISTAN Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra and CHINA’s State owned Chengdu Aircraft Corporation has categorically made it clear in 2018 that both Iron Brothers, PAKISTAN and CHINA, would produce CHINESE Next Generation Wing Loong II Combat Drones for PAKISTAN AIR FORCE in the near future.

The CHINESE Wing Loong II Drone is a state of the art Combat Drone that can be used as a precision strike platform, aerial reconnaissance and as a surveillance. The distinctive feature of the Wing Loong II UCAV is that it connects with a satellite link that gives it a long range strike capability deep in enemy territory.

The CHINESE Wing Loong II Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) has a maximum speed of 370 km/hour, endurance of 32 hours and it has a maximum take-off weight of 4,200 Kilograms in total.
