In a recent development, Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa is likely to be appointed as the first ever Chairman of the Multi-Billion Dollars CHINA PAKISTAN Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA).

According to the report from the reliable sources, a summary in this regard has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office for formal approval.

Sources are suggesting that the formal approval to appoint Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa as the Chairman CPEC Authority (CPECA) would be completed by the upcoming Cabinet meeting in Islamabad.

Notably, the CHINA PAKISTAN Multi-Billion Dollars Economic Corridor (CPEC) is another strong indication of all-weather Friendship between PAKISTAN and CHINA.

It is worth mentioning that General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa is a retired Senior Three-Star General of PAKSTAN ARMY and has been served as the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations from 2012-2016 and he has also been served as the Commander Southern Command until his retirement from 2016-2019. The current Commander Southern Command is headed by Lieutenant General Muhammad Waseem Ashraf.
