PAK ARMY Appoints Former DG ISPR And Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor As President Of The National Defense University (NDU) Islamabad With Immediate Effect:
Major Level shuffle in PAKISTAN AMY as PAK ARMY has appointed former DG ISPR and Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant Generals Asif Ghafoor as the new President of the National Defense University (NDU) Islamabad with Immediate Effect on Friday, Nov 24 2023, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said in an Official Statement.
According to the details, Former Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor was made Corps Commander Quetta after the unfortunate Martyrdom of Former Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali during Flood Relief Operations near Lasbela in Balochistan.
Lieutenant General Rahat Nadeem will replace the Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor as the new Corps Commander Quetta.

Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor has been appointed as the new President of the National Defence University (NDU), Sacred Country PAKISTAN’s premier institution for advanced military education. Lt Gen Ghafoor is a highly decorated and experienced officer with a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor is a graduate of the Command & Staff College in Quetta, Command & Staff College Bandung in Indonesia, and the National Defence University in Islamabad. He holds a master’s degree in Strategic Studies.
Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor is a recipient of the COAS Commendation Card for operations in Bajaur during 2008 and the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military). He is widely respected for his professionalism, expertise, and leadership.
The appointment of Former DG ISPR and Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant Gen Ghafoor as President of NDU is a testament to his outstanding service and capabilities. He is expected to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role and lead NDU into a new era of excellence.
