Sri Lanka Bags Gold Medal As 3rd International PACES Competition Successfully Culminates At Ayub Stadium In Lahore:

Sri Lanka bags Gold Medal as the 3rd International PACES (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) competition successfully culminates at the Ayub Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, November 7, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, the 3rd International PACES Competition, with the participation of 6 foreign teams, successfully concludes in Lahore.

Commander Lahore Corps Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the ceremony.

101 International Military Sportsmen from 6 foreign and allied countries participated in the tournament, including the Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, UAE and Uzbekistan, while Indonesia, Egypt, Japan and Myanmar participated in the tournament as the observers.

In the International Team category, Sri Lanka clinched the Gold Medal, while Uzbekistan and UAE jointly won the Silver Medal. The teams of Jordan, Palestine and Iraq won the Bronze Medal in the mega military sporting event.

In the domestic teams category, the Defending Champion, Engineers Regimental Centre Team defended their title and secured the Gold Medal. Silver Medal was won by the Multan Corps, whole the Baloch Regiment won the Coveted Gold Medal.

In the individual category, Sapper Ahmed Raza from Engineers Center and Warrant Officer Mubarek from UAE secured the Gold Medal in the 3.2 kilometer race competition.

In the Pull Ups event, Corporal Dissanayake from Sri Lanka bags the Gold Medal and the Sapper Amjad from the Engineers Centre. Sapper Ahmed Raza sets a new PACES Championship record with 967 pull ups.

In Sit Ups, Sapper Shahzad from Engineers Centre and Corporal Dissanayake secured the Gold Medal.

In the Combat Efficiency Test, Naik Ijaz from Multan Corps and Corporal Raja Karuna from Sri Lanka secured the Gold Medals.

In Fittest of the Fittest Category, Sapper Amjad from Engineers Center and Corporal Dissanayaka from Sri Lanka wins the Gold Medal.

The Chief Guest of the Ceremony also congratulated them for displaying excellent level of physical fitness, sportsmanship and endurance during the entire International Military Sporting event.

The Chief Guest of the Ceremony, Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz distributed the Prizes, Medals and Shields amongst the winners.

Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz also lauded the performance of PAKISTAN ARMY Teams and the International Teams for showing the highest standards of fitness during the tournament.

The successfully commencement of the 3rd International Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System at Provincial Capital Lahore will help to portray the positive image of PAKISTAN as a peaceful and Sport loving nation, which is completely safe and secure for the conduct of International Sporting events.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony complimented the team organizers and the staff for making the 3rd International PACES Competition event as another great Military Sporting Event.
