Ukrainian Defense Giant UkrOboronProm To Upgrade T-80UD Main Battle Tanks Of PAKISTAN For $85.6 Million:
Ukrainian Defense Giant UkrOboronProm has announced on Monday that it has sealed the contract with PAKISTAN for the ugradation and modernization of T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBT) of PAKISTAN ARMED FORCES for a Whooping $85.6 Million.
The Company has announced on 22nd February to provide support, including repair and support, to the PAKISTAN ARMY T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBTs).
T-80UD is considered as the frontline Main Battle Tanks in service with the PAKISTAN ARMY and Ukrainian Company will modernize these Tanks by installing hi-tech Electronics Warfare Suite, Communication System, Munitions and hi-capacity Engines.
The multi-million Defense Contract was signed at the Sidelines of International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2021 that is being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE by Minister of Defense Production (MoDP) Zubaida Jalal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UkrOboronProm Yuri Gusev.
After cutting the multi-million dollars Defense deal with Ukraine, Minster of Defense Production (MoDP) Zubaida Jalal said that the bilateral Defense Cooperation between PAKISTAN and Ukraine will continue to increase in the future in many folds.
Giving an insight of the contract, Chief Executive Officer of Ukrainian Defense Giant UkrOboronProm, Yuri Gusev said, “Our armored-manufactured companies are constantly updating their production capacity and improving technologies that ensure high-quality work and products.”
“We also discussed with PAKISTAN new orders for the supply of 6TD1 and 6TD2 engines,” he added.
On the occasion, CEO of UkrOboronProm Yuri Gusev said that Ukraine Companies are regularly upgrading their production capacities with advanced technologies to ensure the top quality performance.
It is pertinent to mention that Ukraine has demonstrated the T-80UD Main Battle Tanks to PAKISTAN back in 1990s to fulfil its requirement for new Main Battle Tanks.
PAKISTAN ARMY has thoroughly tested the Main Battle Tanks and signed the $650 Million deal with Ukraine for the procurement of 320 T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) in two variants, including Export Ob’yekt 478BE and Ob’yekt 47B.
PAKISTAN ARMY bought the Ukrainian T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) to fulfill the requirements of its Armored Corps back in 1990s.
Ukraine has exported the T-80UD Main Battle Tanks to PAKISTAN, which inhibit various features of the advanced and hi-tech T-84 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), including Electronic Warfare Suite and New Turret.
Ukraine has started the deliveries of 320 T-80UD Main Battle Tanks to PAKISTAN in 1990, which continues till early 2002.
There are an estimated 6,000 T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) being used by Different countries of the world besides PAKISTAN, including PAKISTAN Iron Brother CHINA, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, South Korea and Egypt.
The T-80UD Main Battle Tank has a top speed of 48km/hr, 2.2 meters high, weighs around 46 Tons and comes with the 9.6 meters long with gun forward mechanism.
