PAKISTAN NAVY Acknowledges The Formidable Role Of Its Iron Brother TURKEY In Strengthening The Defense Of Sacred Country PAKISTAN:

PAKISTAN NAVY, the Custodian of Sacred Maritime Frontiers of Sacred Country PAKISTAN, has acknowledged the formidable role of its Iron Brother TURKEY in strengthening the Defense of Sacred Country PAKISTAN.

PAKISTAN NAVY Deputy Chief of the NAVAL STAFF (DCNS) Projects Vice Admiral Imran Ahmad, who was on an official visit to Iron Brother TURKEY from January 24-28.

PAKISTAN NAVY Deputy Chief of the NAVAL STAFF (DCNS) Projects Vice Admiral Imran Ahmad said that TURKEY has played a vital role in Strengthening the Defense of the Sacred Country PAKISTAN by collaborating with the Country on a number of projects.

He gave these remarks during interview with the Prominent TURKISH Defense Magazine named as ‘DEFENCE TURKEY’ in order to get first-hand information on the major modernization and upgradation programs of PAKISTAN NAVY being carried out at Istanbul NAVAL Shipyard.

The Deputy Chief of Naval Staff – Projects (DCNS) Projects paid an official visit to Istanbul Naval Shipyard, where he reviewed the current Progress of PAKISTAN NAVY MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warships being constructed by PAKISTAN Iron Brother TURKEY for PAKISTAN.

PAKISTAN NAVY Deputy Chief of the NAVAL STAFF (DCNS) Projects Vice Admiral Imran Ahmad added that TURKISH NAVAL Companies have made significant and impressive progress in the past few years and PAKISTAN NAVY equalize the TURKISH NAVAL Companies at par with the International Standard of any European Defense Company.

He added that in line of the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Vision, the PAKISTAN NAVY is striving hard to be a combat ready Maritime Force to deal and reckoned with.

“In pursuit of CNS`s (CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF) vision, the PN is striving to be a combat-ready multi-dimensional force that safeguards PAKISTAN`s maritime interests and radiating influence in the region with a global outlook,” DCNS PAKISTAN NAVY Vice Admiral Imran Ahmed said.

While emphasizing the Ambitions and Goals of PAKISTAN NAVY to be a Combat-Ready, Multi-Dimensional Blue Water Force capable of safeguarding the Maritime Interests of Sacred Country PAKISTAN and radiating influence in the region by adopting the approach of global outlook.

PAKISTAN NAVY Deputy Chief of the NAVAL STAFF (DCNS) Projects Vice Admiral Imran underlined that PAKISTAN NAVY is heavily relying upon the acquisition and construction of state of the art modern and potent surface and subsurface combatants to be used in the NAVAL and AIR Domain.

He said that right now PAKISTAN NAVY is undergoing a massive modernization and upgradation program and under this program, PAKISTAN NAVY is acquiring lethal and hi-tech Submarines, Stealth Warships, Frigates, Corvettes, Fast Attack Cruise Missile Boats, Combat Drones and Anti-Submarine Warfare from its Iron Brother TURKEY and CHINA.

Details of Massive Modernization and Upgradation Currently Undergoing in PAKISTAN NAVY:

Under the massive upgradation, PAKISTAN NAVY is acquiring the following Hi-Tech Ships and equipment from its Iron Brother CHINA and TURKEY:

  • 4 x MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warships
  • 4 x Type 054A/P Stealth Warships
  • 8 x Type 039b Diesel Attack Submarines
  • 4 x Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV)
  • CH-4 Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Attack Drones
  • Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft (LRMPA) Jets
  • Modern Anti-Submarine Helicopter Fleet
  • New Shallow Water Attack Submarines
  • Zargana Anti-Torpedo Countermeasure Systems for Submarines
  • Midget-class Submarine for PAKISTAN NAVY Special Forces (NSSG)

“The PN is building and acquiring Type 054A/P Frigates, 4 x MILGEM Class Corvettes, 4 x OPVs, Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Class CH-4 attack drones, Jet LRMPAs, a modern Helicopter Fleet, Attack Submarines, acquisition of new Shallow Water Attack Submarines (S/Ms), while giving focused attention to the existing fleet.” He added.

While referring the PAKISTAN NAVY MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warship Program, VADM Imran Ahmed said that the Expectations of PAKISTAN with its Iron Brother TURKEY goes much beyond than the acquisition of 4 x MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warships.

He added that the MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warship project also involves the Transfer of Technology and designing of purpose-built PAKISTAN NAVY’s JINNAH’s Class Stealth Warship.

“Our expectation of PN-MILGEM goes much beyond the 4 warships being built. The project also includes Transfer of Technology, upgrade of Karachi Shipyard, and designing a purpose-built JINNAH Class Frigate (JCF) for the PAKISTAN NAVY,” VADM Imran Ahmed said.

“With regards to PN-MILGEM, with the induction of a modern, well-equipped, and state-of-the-art BABUR Class Corvettes in the PN Fleet, PAKISTAN will acquire the best capability to respond to future challenges and maintain peace & stability, and the balance of power in the indian Ocean Region,” DCNS Project Vice Admiral Imran Ahmed said.

While terming the acquisition of MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warship, the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Projects) Vice Admiral Imran Ahmed said that acquisition of MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warship will increase the Offensive capability of PAKISTAN manifolds and it will also help to maintain Peace and Stability in the indian Ocean Region.

“The PN-MILGEM Project is a testimony of the PAKISTAN NAVY’s trust in the ever-growing TURKISH NAVAL Shipbuilding industry. Our expectation of PN-MILGEM goes much beyond the 4 warships being built. The project also includes Transfer of Technology, upgrade of Karachi Shipyard, and designing a purpose-built JINNAH Class Frigate (JCF) for the PAKISTAN NAVY,” he added.

“As an offset of the PN-MILGEM Project, the collaborative design of the JINNAH Class Frigate (JCF) is being undertaken by PN and TURKISH NAVAL ship designers. The first three phases of the project have been successfully completed, while the Functional Design Phase is in progress. The project will be completed by 2025,” he added.

While referring the purpose-built design of PAKISTAN NAVY JINNAH Class Stealth Warship, DCNS Projects VADM Imran Ahmed said that PAKISTAN NAVY and Istanbul NAVAL Shipyard has successfully completed the first three phases of the projects, while the fourth Functional Design Phase is currently in progress.

PAK NAVY VADM Imran Ahmed said that if Istanbul NAVAL Shipyard going to develop a Joint Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)/ Surveillance Aircraft, then PAKISTAN NAVY would seriously consider that proposal.

“The Joint Naval Industry Program for developing an airborne ASW/ Surveillance platform is a plausible proposition. However, as of now, steps in this regard have not been initiated due to the requirement of an elaborated aeronautical setup.” DCNS Projects VADM Imran Ahmed said.

“Notwithstanding the aforesaid, if the TURKISH aeronautical setup has any such proposal to jointly develop ASW/ Surveillance aircraft, the PN would certainly consider it,” he continued.  

It is expected that the recent high-profile visit of Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (DCNS Projects VADM Imran Ahmed will significantly help to strengthen the Bilateral Defense and Security relationship between the Defense Companies of both Iron Brothers, PAKISTAN and TURKEY.
