In a recent development, PAKISTAN NAVY inducts state of the art ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in its Arsenal on Saturday in prestigious and gracious ceremony held in Karachi, PAKISTAN NAVY Director General Public Relations (DGPS) Rear Admiral Arshid Javed said in an official statement via Twitter.

PAKISTAN NAVAL CHIEF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi graced the prestigious Aircraft and UAV’s induction ceremony as the Chief Guest.

According to the details, PAKISTAN NAVY gets both the ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aircraft (TUAS) system from Germany.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest of the Ceremony CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi highlighted the role of PAKISTAN NAVAL FORCE and PAKISTAN NAVAL AIR ARM Fleet in in safeguarding the Sacred Maritime Frontiers of PAKISTAN and ensuring the safety of Sea Lines Communication.

Highlighting the features of the newly inducted ATR Marinized Patrol Aircraft (MPA) into PAKISTAN NAVY’s arsenal, the Chief Guest of the Ceremony CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi that the induction of a state of the art ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft and LUNA NAG Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAVS) will provide much needed flexibility to PAK NAVY Special Operation Forces.

The Chief Guest CNS Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi further added that the induction of cutting-edge LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS) will further help to boost Air Arm Fleet of PAKISTAN NAVY.

Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi further said that induction of LUNA NG Tactical UAVs will further augment the PAKISTAN NAVY’s surveillance, reconnaissance and intelligence gathering capabilities in the Maritime frontiers of PAKISTAN, along the coastal belt and creek areas.

During the occasion, the CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi urged the crew of the newly inducted Marinized ATR-72 Patrol Aircraft and LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System to make optimum utilization from these platforms in order to effectively contribute towards the combat and surveillance capability of PAKISTAN NAVAL Air Arm Fleet.

The CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Admiral Zaffar Mahmood Abbasi further that PAKISTAN NAVY will continue its efforts for the procurement of state of the art Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to support conventional and unconventional maritime operations of PAKISTAN NAVY.

ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA):

The ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft is a state of the art twin engine turboprop marinized aircraft that is equipped with modern apparatus. The ATR-72 Marinized Patrol Aircraft (MPA) of PAKISTAN NAVY is equipped with the state of the art cutting edge and revolutionary Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) Sensors for maritime, ground and aerial surveillance purposes.

Other features of the PAKISTAN NAVY newly inducted ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) broadband satellite communication system, self protection suite, sonobuoy launching system, support measure suite and the hard points of dual-weapons. Moreover, the PAKISTAN NAVY ATR-72 Maritime Patrol Aircraft is also capable of anti-submarine warfare and maritime patrol capabilities and Aerodata Mission management System, which is also known as AeroMission designed for Anti-Submarine warfare.

LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS):

PAKISTAN NAVY also inducted the cutting-edge German made LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS) developed by the German EMT Ingenieurgesellschaft Dipl.-Ing. Hartmut Euer mbH or EMT Penzberg company.

The LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is basically the upgraded and modernized version of its younger brother LUNA Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS). The LUNA NG Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS) is upgraded several times with modern apparatus, tools and communication systems to further increase the capability of the LUNA NG TUAS.
