PAKISTAN NAVY SSGN Participated In 13th Bilateral SOF Exercise AYYILDIZ-2021 With TURKISH SPECIAL FORCES In Istanbul:
PAKISTAN NAVY Special Services Group NAVY or SSGN participated in the 13th Bilateral AYYILDIZ-2021 Special Operations Forces (SOF) Exercise with the Brotherly TURKISH Special Forces SU ALTI TAARUZ (SAT) in Istanbul, TURKEY on Monday, December 20, 2021, PAKISTAN NAVY Media Wing Head DGPR NAVY Rear Admiral Naeem Sarwar said in an official statement.
According to the details, PAKISTAN NAVY SSGN Commandos conduct Bilateral SOF Exercise AYYILDIZ-2021 with the Brotherly TURKISH Su Alti Taarruz (SAT) in Istanbul.
The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of both the Iron Brother Countries, PAKISTAN and TURKEY, are regularly conducting the Bilateral AYYILIDZ Special Operations Forces (SOF) exercise since 1996.
The AYYILDIZ-2021 is the 13th edition of the exercise. The name “AYYILDIZ” is a TURKISH name, which means ‘Star and Crescent’.
The AYYILDIZ-2021 Special Operations Forces (SOF) Exercise aimed to enhance the professional expertise in the Special Operations Forces (SOF) domain.
The aim of the Bilateral Special Operations Forces (SOF) Exercise AYYILDIZ-2021 is to enhance the interoperability, develop synergy and strengthen the military to military relationships between the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of both the Iron Brother Countries.
The 13th edition of the Ayyildiz-2021 Bilateral SOF exercise focused on Precise Sniper Firing, Counter Terrorism (CT) Operations, Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) and Frogman Operations domain.
“The exercise focused on Anti-Terrorism operations, Sniper Firing, Frogman Ops and Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) domains,” DGPR NAVY said.
The exercise also includes the demonstration of coordinated Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) Operations, involving Warships, Fast Speed Boats, Rigid Boats and Helicopters with the SOFs operators of both the Iron Brother Countries, PAKISTAN and TURKEY.
“The exercise concluded with demo of coordinated VBSS Ops involving Ships, Helicopters and Fast Speed Boats along with SOFs elements,” DGPR NAVY added.
The 13th Edition of AYYILDIZ-2021 Bilateral SOF Exercise was witnessed by the top level distinguished dignitaries from both the Iron Brother Countries, TURKEY and PAKISTAN.

“Exercise AYYILDIZ-2021 proved professionally rewarding as SOFs elements of both countries remained actively engaged in rehashing contemporary tactics, techniques and procedures in Special Operations domains,” DGPR NAVY continued.
The AYYILDIZ-2021 Bilateral Special Operations Forces (SOF) Exercise proved very beneficial for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of both the Iron Brother Countries that remained actively engaged in various techniques, procedures and contemporary tactics of the 6th Generation Hybrid and Non-conventional Warfare in the Special Operations Domains.
