The PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Squadron with the highest and the best score in the inter-Squadron Armament Competition will be rewarded with the Armament Trophy. Furthermore, the pilot highest scores in the Armament will be awarded with the Coveted Sher Afgan Trophy.

The basic aim of the PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Inter Squadron Armament Competition is to evaluate the Operational Readiness of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE’s Fighter Squadrons by generating complex hybrid warfare environment and to assess the performance of weapon system based on various tactical/academic weapon profiles.

Each Squadron of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE will be represented by a 4-Member Team that will have to fly complex air to ground missions in a competitive war like scenario. A fire power demonstration by all the fighter aircrafts of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE will also be held at the concluding part of the Armament competition.
Those who are not familiar with the military term strafing, as strafing is a sophisticated military practice of attacking and destroying ground-based movable or immovable targets from Fighter aircrafts with low-altitude and low flying by using the Fighter Aircraft mounted Automatic Weapons.

The indigenously manufactured and PAKISTAN’s Pride 4.5++ Generation Fighter Aircraft JF-17 Thunder is fully capable to equip 1 x 23 mm Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 Twin Barrel Cannon on the Aircraft. The Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 23 mm Twin Barrel Gun has a maximum rate of fire up to 3400 – 3600 RPM and its muzzle velocity is 715 m/s.
This is the most important and high profile Operational Readiness Exercise of PAKISTAN AIR FORCE as the Fighter Squadrons will participate in it.
The timing of the PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Inter Squadron Armament Competition is also very significant at this crucial moment where the tensions between PAKISTAN and its coward and filthy neighbor india are at its peak due to the illegal annexation of indian Occupied Kashmir by the terrorist and coward indian government.
