2nd PAKISTAN-Kazakhstan Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise “Dostarym-2019” Continues in Oskemen:
The Second Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise between the Armed Forces of PAKISTAN and Kazakhstan continues at the Regional military command in Oskemen, a city in Kazakhstan.
The Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise named as the “Dostarym-2019”, which means “Friend” in Kazakh Language. The contingent of PAKSTAN ARMY reached on Alamaty, Kazakhstan on Aug 17, 2019 to participate in the “Dostraym-2019” Joint Counter Terrorism Military Exercise.
The opening ceremony of the “Dostraym-2019” Joint Military Exercise was held on Aug 19, 2019.
From the Kazakh Side, First Deputy Commander-Chief of Staff of the Regional Command “East” Colonel Ushtaev Kuanyshbek Uskenbaevich participated in the ceremony, while the PAKISTAN’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan and PAKISTAN Defence Attaché participated from the PAKISTANI Side.
The main focus of this bilateral joint counter terrorism exercise “Dostarym-2019” is to strengthen the military to military co-operation between the two brotherly and friendly countries.
The “Dostarym-2019” is the second successive joint military exercise. The very first Joint Military Exercise Between the Armed Forces of PAKISTAN and Kazakhstan was named as “Dostarym-2017” and it held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre at Pabbi in PAKISTAN back to November 20-24, 2017.
During the Exercise, the Special Forces of both the respective countries will exchange the valuable experience the domain of counter terrorism and improving the tactical inoperability of both of the forces in fighting against illegal armed groups.
The week long exercise started from Aug 18 and will be continue till Aug 25, 2019.
The “Dostraym-2019” military exercise is being conducted in two phases or stages. The main educational purpose of the exercise is to strengthen of fighting brotherhood, military co-operation and improve the co-ordination and tactics for special operation in both group and individual training.
The Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise will be concluded on Aug 24, 2019. The Commander of the Regional East Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Major General Kashaganov Nurlan Musakanovich is also participating in the closing ceremony of “Dostraym-2019”.
Kazakhstan is a Muslim Brotherly Country and PAKISTAN enjoys a friendly and cordial relation between the two countries.
The recent Joint Counter Terrorism Exercise will help the Armed Forces of both the countries to share their hard earned valuable experience regarding the Tactics, Co-operation and to strengthen the military to military contact between the two Brotherly countries.
The Chief Guest from the Brotherly Kazakh Side would be Commander Major General Kashaganov Nurlan Musakanovich, whereas from the PAKISTANI Side the Chief Guest would be Ambassador of PAKISTAN in Kazakhstan Dr Imtiaz Ahmed Kazi and the Defence Attaché of PAKISTAN Brigadier Shakil Faridi will be participating in the concluding ceremony of “Dostraym-2019” Joint Military Exercise.
