COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa Appoints Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali As Colonel Commandant AK Regiment:
CHIEF OF THE ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has appointed the Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Ali as the Colonel Commandant of AZAD KASHMIR Regiment on December 1st, 2021, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said in an official statement.
“CHIEF OF THE ARMY STAFF (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa formally installed Quetta Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali as the colonel commandant of the Azad Kashmir Regiment of the PAKISTAN ARMY,” DG ISPR said.
According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the AZAD KASHMIR Regimental Centre Mansar Camp and installed the new Colonel Commandant of AZAD KASHMIR Regiment.
Upon arrival at the Azad Kashmir Regimental Centre, the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa laid the floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fatiha in order to pay homage and rich tribute to the Sacred Sons of PAKISTAN, who have spilled their blood for this Sacred Country PAKISTAN.
While addressing the participants, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa highly lauded and appreciated the Azad Kashmir Regiment for its remarkable, glorious and distinctive history, outstanding operational performance, professional excellence and war worthiness.
“Gen Qamar praised Azad Kashmir Regiment for its glorious history, professional excellence, outstanding operational performance and war worthiness,” DG ISPR Quoted COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the second consecutive time in the past two weeks that a three-star General of PAKISTAN ARMY has been formally given a key post of PAKISTAN ARMY.

“Installation of the first-ever three-star female general officer of PAKISTAN ARMY as Colonel Commandant of the AMC is indeed a matter of immense pride for PAKISTAN ARMY and the country,” COAS General Bajwa said.
Last week, PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF General Qamar Javed Bajwa officially installed the Lieutenant General Nigar Johar as the “first-ever female three-star General” as the Colonel Commandant of the ARMY Medical Corps or AMC.
