More High Level Promotions and Appointments in PAKISTAN NAVY as in a recent development, Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas assumes his responsibilities as the Commander Karachi (COMKAR) in an impressive Change of Guard Ceremony held as PNS BAHADUR Karachi on Wednesday, Nov 13, 2019. The New Commander Karachi (COMKAR) Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas takes the Command of COMKAR from the Rear Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi in a prestigious Change of Guard Ceremony.

The new Commander Karachi (COMKAR) Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas was presented the Guard of Honor by the smart contingent of PAK NAVY and then He was introduced to the Commanding and Principal Officers of all the units under his Command.

The new Commander Karachi (COMKAR) Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas is graduated from two prestigious institutions as the PAKISTAN NAVY War College Lahore and National Defense University (NDU) Islamabad.

Furthermore, the Rear Admiral has completed his Masters in Military Research from UK and He has also completed the Senior Naval Command Course from friendly country CHINA.

The incumbent new Commander Karachi was decorated with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military and Sitara-E-Bisalat in recognition for his distinguished services for his Sacred Homeland PAKISTAN.

The new incumbent Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas started his career in the Operations Branch of PAKISTAN NAVY back in 1988. He enjoyed a remarkable and outstanding career with a wide range of Staff and Command Appointments.

The major Command Appointments of Commander Karachi (COMKAR) Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas include the Commandant PAKISTAN NAVAL Academy, Commanding Officer PNS ZULFIQAR and Commanding Officer of PNS BABUR. Before taking the charge of Commander Karachi (COMKAR), the Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas was serving duty as the Commander Central Punjab (COMCEP) and Commandant PAKISTAN NAVY War College Lahore.

The Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas also commanded the Multinational Naval Task Force Combined Task Force 151 (CTF-151). The distinguished Staff Appointments of Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas included the Director General Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I), Principal Secretary to the Chief of the NAVAL Staff and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Training & Evaluation) at NAVAL HQ Islamabad.

The new Commander Karachi (COMKAR) Rear Admiral Zahid Ilyas also commanded the 18th Destroyer of PAKISTAN NAVY deployed the evacuation of stranded PAKISTANIS at Yemen, He Successfully completed his duty and decorated with the Sitara-E-Bisalat for his valor, dedication and remarkable achievements.

The impressive and Prestigious Change of Command Ceremony of Commander Karachi (COMKAR) was attended by the large numbers of PAKISTAN NAVY Officers, Sailors/CPOs and people from other walk of life.
