Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi Assumes Command Of 17th CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF Of PAKISTAN NAVY:

Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has assumed the Command of 17th CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) of PAKISTAN NAVY on Wednesday October 7, 2020 at the prestigious change of command ceremony held at PNS ZAFAR.

The newly appointed CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has succeeded the previous CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, who relinquished the Command of NAVAL CHIEF on October 7, 2020.

In his farewell address, the outgoing CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, while congratulating the newly appointed CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi said he is quite optimistic that PAKISTAN NAVY would make significant progress under the command of CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi.

Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said that he was proud that he was given the task to defend the Sacred Maritime Frontiers of PAKISTAN under the role of CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) of PAKISTAN NAVY.

CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi gave a detailed picture of the ongoing development strategies of PAKISTAN NAVY by saying that all the strategies of PAKISTAN NAVY were totally aligned and synchronized with the evolving challenges and threats.

CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi stated that now PAKISTAN NAVAL FLEET consists of over 50 Major Surface Combatant Vessels, including the 20 Major Ships that will significantly improve the offensive and defensive capability of PAKISTAN NAVAL FLEET and PAKISTAN NAVY as a whole.

CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi further added that Four MILGEM ADA Class Stealth Warships would be inducted into the Fleet of PAKISTAN NAVY between 2023 and 2025, while the Four CHINESE Type 054 A/P Frigates would also be inducted into the fleet in the coming years.

CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said that PAKISTAN NAVY is focusing on turning the NAVY into the Combat-Ready NAVAL FORCE with special emphasis on professional completeness, battle preparedness and adequate training.

Referring to the Type 039B AIP Hangor Class Submarine or Type 041 Yuan Class Submarines, CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said PAKISTAN NAVY is undertaking the Hangor Submarine Project in collaboration with its Iron Brother and All Weather Ally CHINA, is progressing expectedly with 4 construction of 4 Submarines in CHINA and remaining 4 in PAKISTAN, respectively.

The outgoing CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said that the all the 8 Submarines would be inducted into the fleet of PAKISTAN NAVY in the coming years.

On the occasion, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said that PAKISTAN NAVY is a formidable force to deal with and it can easily thwart enemy designs against the Sacred Country PAKISTAN with Iron Hands.

Newly Appointed CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi:

The newly appointed CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has got commission in the Operations Branch of PAKISTAN NAVY in 1985 and he also won the coveted Sword of Honor upon the completion of the initial training being done at PAKISTAN NAVAL Academy.

During his glorious and illustrious career, CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi served on the various key Command and Staff Appointments.

His major Command Appointments included the Commander 18th Destroyer Squadron, Commander of Two Type 21 Ships, Commander of PNS Tariq and PNS Badr, Commandant PAKISTAN NAVY War College, Commandant PNS Bahadur, Commander PAKISTAN Fleet (COMPAK), Commander Central Punjab Lahore (COMCEP) and Commander Karachi (COMKAR).

The distinguished appointments include the Director General Naval Intelligence, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training & Evaluation), Head of F-22P Mission CHINA and Principal Secretary to CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS).

Furthermore, CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also served as the Chief of Staff (Operations) at the PAKISTAN NAVAL HQ, Islamabad.

CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi is a graduate of PAKISTAN ARMY Command & Staff College, Quetta and National Defense University (NDU), Islamabad. Moreover, he also holds the Masters Degree in Underwater Acoustics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China.

In recognition for his magnificent and meritorious services to his Sacred Country PAKISTAN, CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has been awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-e-Basalat. He has also awarded with the French Medal Chevalier (Knight) by the French Government.
