ISLAMIC Brotherly Country Syria has conferred the Coveted and Prestigious Medal of Bravery on PAKISTAN AIR FORCE ACE and Top Gun Air Commodore (r) Sattar Alvi for shooting down the israeli fighter jets over Golan heights during the 1973 Arab-israeli war on Sunday, 13 August 2023, PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Media Wing Head DGPR AIR FORCE said in an Official Statement.
According to the details, Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic has honored PAKISTAN AIR FORCE veteran, Air Commodore Retd Sattar Alvi, for rendering his services during the 1973 Arab Israel War.
On behalf of Syrian Arab Air Force and on the instructions of Syrian Government, Syrian Ambassador H.E. Dr. Ramez Alraee conferred Syrian Medal of Bravery to Air Commodore Retd Sattar Alvi along with a Certificate of Commemoration for his bravery during the 1973 Arab-israeli war.
On April 26, 1973, the PAKISTAN AIR FORCE Braveheart, Top Gun and Ace, then Flight Lieutenant Sattar Alvi, etched his name in golden words by shooting down an israeli Mirage aircraft while piloting a Syrian Air Force MiG-21 fighter jet without any loss during the 1973 Arab-israeli war.
The thirty second air combat of Flight Lieutenant Sattar Alvi showcased the bravery and skill of Brave and Valiant PAKISTANI pilots in defending the Syrian airspace.
