The successful testing of the indigenously automatic grenade (AGL) will help to further strengthen the offensive and defensive capabilities of PAKISTAN ARMED FORCES.
The PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) is domestically produced in the Sacred Country PAKISTAN at the PAKISTAN Ordnance Factories (POF), Wah Cantt.
The PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) has a total effective range of 2200 meters and it can be used to fire 40 mm grenades with pinpoint accuracy.
The PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) has a caliber of 40 mm and it features the rate of firing of 250 – 275 Grenades Per Minute.
Different types of grenades and ammunition can be used in the PK-40, including the Armored Piercing (AP), High Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP), Target Practice (TP) and High Explosive (HE).
In Anti Personnel Role, the PK-40 AGL covers the maximum area target of 1500 meters and in Anti-Armored Personnel Carrier, it covers the maximum range of 500 meters.
The PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) is equipped with the multiple sighting systems, including the use of Telescopic and Mechanical sight for Day and it can also be fitted with the Night Vision sighting system with optional range of 1500 meters.
The total length of the Automatic Grenade Launcher is 1,193.8 mm and the total barrel length is 557.2 mm.
The total weight of the PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) is 46 Kilograms and the total weight of the Ammunition Feed Box is 7 Kilograms in total. Whereas, the total weight of the Tripod is 20 Kilograms and the weight of Cradle is 24 Kilograms in total.

The Feed Device and Ejection system of PAKISTAN’s indigenously manufactured Automatic Grenade Launcher is 22 & 48 Units by selecting a Downward Ejection System (DES).
The Operational / Storage Temperature of the PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) is -30° – +55°C. It means that the AGL can easily be used in the unforgiving terrain of Siachen Glacier and arduous terrain of Cholistan or Thar Desert.
One of the distinctive features of the PK-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) is that it can easily be mounted on Helicopters, Vehicles and only requires a small team for its overall operation.
