PAKISTAN Russia Friendship Drills DRUZHBA-V 2020 Kicks Off At Tarbela:

The fifth edition of PAKISTAN Russia Joint Friendship Drills DRUZHBA 5 or DRUZHBA-V 2020 kicks off at Tarbela on Wednesday, 8 November, 2020, PAKISTAN ARMY Media Wing Head Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Ifitkhar said in an official statement on the official Twitter Account.

According to the details released by the PAKISTAN ARMY’s Media Wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Special Forces Operators of both the Friendly countries PAKISTAN and Russia are participating in the counterterrorism drills DRUZHBA-V 2020 spanning over two weeks.

During the opening ceremony at Tarbela, the National Anthems of both the Friendly Countries PAKISTAN and Russia.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the Russian Ambassador to PAKISTAN, H.E Danila Ganich. The senior officials from the ARMED FORCES of both friendly countries PAKISTAN and Russia also participated in the opening ceremony of PAKISTAN and Russia Friendship Drills.

“Opening ceremony of DRUZHBA-V 2020 held at Tarbela today. PAKISTAN-Russian Federation Special Forces are participating in two weeks long counter terrorism exercise. National anthems of both countries were played at the start of the ceremony,” DG ISPR said in an official statement on Social Media Handler.

PAKISTAN ARMY’s Media Wing said that the Special Forces Operators of both PAKISTAN and Russia would engage in a wide range of unconventional and hybrid drills during the exercise, including the counterterrorism training, Airborne training and rappelling.

PAKISTAN ARMY’s Media Wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) also added that the hostage rescue operation and sky diving would also be the part of DRUZHBA V Joint Drills.

It is pertinent to mention that the Special Forces Operators of the Russia Arrives in PAKISTAN on Thursday 5 November, 2020 to take part in the fifth consecutive edition of the DRUZHBA-2020 Joint Counter Terrorism Drills with PAKISTAN ARMY’s most Feared and Respected Special Services Group (SSG) Commandos.

The PAKISTAN-Russia Joint Friendship Drills Exercise DRUZHBA held every year. The DRUZHBA-V 2020 Joint Counterterrorism Drills between the Special Forces Operator of PAKISTAN and Russian Federation started back in 2016, when Russian Spetsnaz lands in PAKISTAN for the very first time in the history of both the Friendly countries.

It is important to mention that PAKISTAN ARMY a contingent of PAKISTAN ARMED FORCES participated in the opening ceremony of Kavkaz 2020 Wargames, which were held in the Russian City of Astrakhan.

Moreover, the ARMED FORCES OF PAKISTAN also participated in the Tsentr 2019 or TCENTER 2019 Wargames held in Russia last year. Apart from the Special Forces Operators of PAKISTAN and Russia, the armed forces of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan also participated in the Exercise.
