Keel Laying Ceremony Of PAKISTAN NAVY’s Second MILGEM Class Warship Held At KS&EW:
More blessings for the Best and Great PAKISTANI and TURKISH Nation as the Keel Laying ceremony of PAKISTAN NAVY’s Second Stealth MILGEM Ada Class Warship held at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW), Karachi on Sunday October 25, 2020, PAKISTAN NAVY Spokesman DGPR Rear Admiral Arshid Javed said in an official statement via official twitter account.
TURKISH Defense Minister Hulusi Akar especially came to PAKISTAN for the keel laying ceremony of PAKISTAN NAVY’s Second MILGEM Ada Class Warship.
PAKISTAN CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi also presented on the occasion.
The MILGEM Ada Class Warship is another manifesto of true Brotherhood and Friendship between the Iron Brothers of PAKISTAN and TURKEY.
PAKISTAN’s state owned MILGEM Ada Class Warship, which is being constructed at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works, is a joint project of KS&EW with leading TURKISH Shipbuilder Giant ASFAT (Askeri Fabrika ve Tersane İşletme, Military Factory and Shipyard Management.
Speaking on the occasion, TURKISH Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said that the Keel Laying ceremony is a historic moment for all the parties involved in it.
The TURKISH Defense Minister Hulusi Akar also appreciated the resolve, dedication and commitment of both ASFAT and KS&EW for the construction of technologically highly advanced Warships for PAKISTAN NAVY.
The Managing Director of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) Rear Admiral Ather Saleem said on the occasion that the management of KS&EW is fully aware with the goals and mission set by the Government and PAKISTAN NAVY to the pursue the mission of self-reliance and self-sufficiency in the indigenous defense sector and national defense shipbuilding industry.
The Managing Director of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) Rear Admiral Ather Saleem also highlighted the deep rooted Brotherhood and Friendship of both Iron Brothers TURKEY and PAKISTAN that will usher new opportunities in the field of indigenous warship construction and other Defense sectors of PAKISTAN.
The Stealth MILGEM Ada Class Warship is technologically most advanced combatant surface platform in the fleet of PAKISTAN NAVY.
The MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warship is equipped with the different combinations of cutting-edge weaponry including Surface to air missiles, Surface to surface, CIWS, Anti-Submarine Weapons, modern sensors, and a robust Command and Control System.
According to the details, the MILGEM Ada Class Warships would be armed with the revolutionary CHINESE HQ-16 Surface to Air Missile (SAM) through a 32 Cell Vertical Launch System (VLS). Furthermore, the vessel will additionally also armed with the indigenously developed missile system.
The MILGEM Ada Class Stealth Warships are technologically most advanced warships and can easily compared and compete to US and Western analogues.
The Stealth Warship can perform a variety of missions, including anti-submarine warfare operations, patrol, search & rescue and observation.
It is pertinent to mention that PAKISTAN signed a contract with its Iron Brother TURKEY for the construction of 4 numbers of MILGEM Class Stealth Warships for PAKISTAN NAVY with ASFAT back in July 2018.
The MILGEM Ada Class Corvette has a waterline length of 90.5 meters, design draft of 3.6 meters, a beam of 14.4 meters and a total length of 99 meters. The vessel has a displacement of 2,000 tons. The stealth warship of PAKISTAN NAVY has a total crew cabin capacity of up to 93 members, including the aircrew and it can easily be operated at the sea state 5 with ease.
Under the sealed contract, two of the Stealth MILGEM Warships would be constructed at TURKEY, while the remaining two Warships would be built in PAKISTAN at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW), Karachi under the Transfer of Technology (ToT) program. All the MILGEM Ada Class Warships would be inducted to PAKISTAN NAVAL FLEET by the year of 2023-24.
It will be technologically most advanced platforms equipped with state of the art weapons & modern sensors. The vessel will contribute in maintaining peace, security & balance of power in IOR. Earlier, CG appreciated the M/s ASFAT & KS&EW for construction of the Corvette. (2/2)

It is pertinent to mention that PAKISTAN NAVY played the famous Ottoman Music on the arrival of TURKISH Defense Minister Hulusi Akar in the ceremony.
Apart from TURKISH Defense Minister Hulusi Akar from TURKISH Side and CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, senior officials from both the Brotherly Countries presented in the Keel Laying Ceremony.
