PAKISTAN’s Pride JF-17 Thunder Aircraft To Participate In Malaysia’s New Fighter Competition:

PAKISTAN’s Pride and Star Fighter JF-17 Thunder Fighter Aircraft all set to participate in Malaysia’s New Fighter Competition. Reportedly, Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) will start the Fighter lead-in Trainer/Light Combat Aircraft (FLIT/LCA) Competition in the coming weeks.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) needs to replace 36 ageing aircraft with the new approved Light Combat Aircraft and Malaysia also considering to acquire additional 26 Light Combat Aircrafts to fulfill its needs.

Reportedly, the Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) has got the fleet of ageing aircraft as Mikoyan MiG-29 Fighters, Aeromacchi MB330 Trainers and BAE System Hawk aircraft.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has reportedly shortlisted the total 8 number of Aircrafts as: PAKISTAN Aeronautical Complex JF-17 Thunder Aircraft, Leonardo M346, the Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) FA-50 Fighting Eagle, the SAAB JS-30 Gripen, Yakovlev Yak-130 and Aero Vodochody L-39NG.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force is seeking to acquire the multi-mission platform capable light combat aircraft capable of air to surface and air to ground operations (Sea and Ground), as well as the capability for the training of Advanced Jets.

According to the media reports, Malaysia is reportedly being considered the option of barter trade of its Palm Oil for its Defense related exports and the country is also pursuing the same deal acquiring the fighter aircrafts. However, all the shortlisted potential suppliers are in a strong position to offer a loan or line of credit to back their proposals.

PAKISTAN Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra has successfully cut the Defense deals with Nigeria in 2016 and Myanmar in 2015. Both the countries have really admired the performance of the aircraft and now the PAKISTAN Aeronautical Complex is looking to get orders from Azerbaijan and Malaysia.

PAKISTAN has already rolled out the Block-3 variant of its Pride and Star Fighter Jet JF-17 Thunder Jet and the country showcased the jet in Paris Air Show in which lot of countries showed great interest.

The JF-17 Thunder Block-3 is a 4.5++ Gen Fighter Aircraft, which is equipped with the latest AESA radar, hardware and suites. Furthermore, PAKISTAN has also started the mass production of JF-17 Thunder Block-3 Aircraft in its facility.

It is worth mentioning that the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahatir Mohammad during his PAKISTAN visit also expressed his strong desire and willingness for the procurement of the JF-17 Thunder Aircraft manufacturing facility.

PAKISTAN is optimistic that it had a great chance to prove the worth of its star fighter, which has already been proven by shooting down indian SU-30 MKI and MIG-21 Aircrafts in Feb this year, to convince the friendly country Malaysia that JF-17 Thunder is the ideal aircraft that can easily fulfill Malaysia’s current and future defense based needs in an efficient manner.
