Nigeria All Set To Receive 1st Batch Of JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet From PAKISTAN This Year:
PAKISTAN’s Brotherly Country and Strategic Partner Nigeria is all set to Induct 1st Batch of JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet from PAKISTAN this year. The news has been given confirmed by the Chief of Air Staff of Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
The Chief of Air Staff of Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar further said that Nigeria will start receiving the supply of 1st Batch of JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet from its Brotherly Country PAKISTAN by November 2020. However, the Nigeria Air Force Chief declined to specify the Number of Aircraft the country is about to get from PAKISTAN.
Nigeria has selected the PAKISTAN’s Indigenous Fighter Jet JF-17 Thunder over others due to its unmatched performance, capability and low price than the other Aircraft offered by different countries of the World.
It is important to mention that the Nigeria’s President Muhammad Buhari had previously allocated 61 Million USD for Nigeria’s JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role fighter jet program back in 2016-17.
One of the reasons that Nigeria has selected the JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet due to its economic constraints as the low-price, but capable JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet will help to ease off the burden from its economy.
The JF-17 Thunder Fighter Jet basically a Joint Strike Fighter Aircraft made by the joint production venture between the PAKISTAN Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra and CHINA’s State Owned Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC), Chengdu.
The Nigerian Air Force is planning to use the JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet in its counter-insurgency operation against boko haram and other insurgent militant groups, which are active in the country’s Northern parts.
PAKISTAN has also showcased the more advanced and upgraded Block-3 Variant of its indigenous star fighter jet JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter Jet in International Paris Air Show 2019. The Block-3 is reportedly equipped with the modern avionics, Helmet Mounted Display, advanced Electronic Warfare Capability and JF-17 Thunder Block 3 would also be equipped with the CHINESE KLJ-7A Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar.
The JF-17 Thunder is a Multi-Role All-weather Combat Aircraft designed for Ground Attacks, Interception, Aerial Reconnaissance and Anti-Ship warfare.
